Hookit: Yeah, the feeling of having that reserve over my head was awesome. I kept my handles and dealt with it in quick fashion. In fact as soon as I looked up, I knew it would put me on my back. It started with a big hesitation after the bag came off my back, so I gave a good tug on the risers. That brought the main out of the bag, but the damage was already done by then, it had spun up to shit before inflation. I was on my back quickly and as soon as humanly possible I was on my handles. I peeled and got about 3 inches of cable from the cutaway with one hand. I gave one more good tug, but no good. It took 2 hands to remove that fucker, and that was with metal riser housings. You can see my hand punch out the reserve as I am rotating to my belly and whammo, beautiful white Aerodyne Smart 120. It was a great opening and totally on heading, even though I was still spinning slightly. Funny thing is that I didn't say a thing under reserve, and was steering it with risers to find the freebag. Some habits are ingrained I guess. Only on the ground did I hoot and holler like a freak. It was an incredible moment, but not one I want to experience again any time soon. The premature was on a borrowed rig with my main in it. It had the same size main in it before the switch. My Wings has a cordura BOC, and this one had the Spandex that was in good condition. Heres how I saw it play out. Exit went wonky on a 5 way flower and it looks like the back of my rig and other jumpers rig contacted. After I rotated back around I could see from outside vid that my freefly handle was loose and flapping. This is that lame ass handle that wings had sewn on the same way you do a hackey. Its not a problem if you sew it directly to the pilot chute, but for some reason, they attached it with the same tape you use for hackeys. So after the flower spun out, I was coming back in for a rebuild and that is when you can see it really flapping. Boom, I got REMOVED! So I am positive that the attatchment design was responsible for pulling the pilot out of the BOC. It has that much resistance in the wind. I am calling Wings tomorrow about this. I will not jump it until its replaced with a hackey, or attached right.

Steve, Pitt owns 2 KA's, one in Pitt and the other in one of the other 2 DZ's they own. One of them in the new one in Calgary, and the other in Innisfeld, whereever that is. Abbotsford has a porter that is about 5 minutes faster to 12.5 than the 182-205 to 10k. They have been talking about a new engine for years now. If you really want a good plane, ie big door, you will need to come down to Snohomish when Kapowsins Caravan is here. Some good freeflyers and good vibe. Its about 1 hour from my house south, and Pitt is the same during the day (traffic). Once they build the new bridge for the 2010 Olympics over into Pitt Meadows, the drive all of a sudden goes to about 20 minutes! Depending on where you live in Vancouver area, your drive to Sno will be around 2 hours. Traffic in Vancouver area blows.
