Learning to Jump at Freefall University Spain
kenthediver replied to Seanievw's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Seanie, FFU offer both BPA and USPA certification - I and my eldest son both did AFF there, and have returned since then ... great place, all the crew are cool, both Spanish as well as English, world class instructors, I wrote up my story - maybe read it - it will hopefully give you an idea of what to expect. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4342021;page=unread#unread Whatever you choose, enjoy it, stay safe and have fun -

What rating for flying jump planes
kenthediver replied to kenthediver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
So, I am toying with the idea of getting a rating for flying jump planes - single engine - and was wondering what rating is required? Is there a minimum hours required for flying etc? Any advice would be appreciated. Ken -
Road raging English driver makes his own instant karma
kenthediver replied to ryoder's topic in The Bonfire
Agreed, the driver should have kept his cool, not responded and let the cyclist make a charge. Then the Cyclist is open for "malicious prosecution" lawsuit - it is pretty clear the cyclist was provoking the confrontation. -

Hi Chris, Normally I stay out of "religious" debates because most folk have entrenched ideas and don't want to debate, they just want to state their side without possibility of movement - and this is on both sides - religious and non-religious. You asked for opinions and Ron responded - it is his (and many others opinion), and at least Ron is consistent and not embarrassed about his faith - so why surprised he has responded? Looking at this from the ISIS perspective, and I do believe that you need to see this through their eyes, there was a very interesting article published a while ago on ISIS, I will see if I can find the link (I did publish it on SC) - where ISIS are trying to provoke the apocalypse. They believe that if they can get western boots onto the ground, they will usher in the apocalypse and then bring about paradise. That is why we have to get the middle east to resolve this, and we should not be involved. Also, looking back at European history, the Middle east is now going through the birth pains on democracy that we experienced over the last 7 or 8 hundred years - it is painful and bloody, but the middle east must find their own way, You cannot force social ideology onto a nation or region ... it always ends badly. We should only advise if requested to do so. We can defend ourselves but this is a battle the semitic nations (all of them) need to fight.

Where are you jumping in Ireland? And what days does your DZ operate?

Nats, try www.usagoals.com - it has nearly every sport broadcast on it. When he opens it, wait 30 seconds, then start to close the banners - it does clear and you get good quality - rugby, football, NFL, martial arts, basketball....its all on there.

with you on that - killing the sick and twisted / NSFW thread has spoilt this site.

Choosing the right drop Zone
kenthediver replied to Ramzisleiman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Ramzis, I did my AFF at FFU - My course story is here and will detail for you what you can expect - http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4342021;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Your AFF cost normally covers the first 8 jumps, you should ask about costs for re-takes of an AFF level in the event that you fail a level. After you have done your AFF, you will still need to do 10 consol jumps for a BPA membership, or an additional 17 jumps for a USPA licence. You can jump anywhere in the world with either licence as far as I know. I have taking my son to FFU as well. I literally trust them with my life! And my son's life -
Choosing the right drop Zone
kenthediver replied to Ramzisleiman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just as a thought - and I am writing from memory so the details may not be totally correct - You also need to check what the payment schedule is for your course - and if you cannot complete the course, do you get a refund? Any decent DZ should refund. The reason I say this - there was a bloke on here a while ago who did his AFF in the far east (I think in Thailand actually), he had to see a doctor after his first jump, and the doctor recommended no more jumping, and the DZ refused a refund. -
