  4. Do you have a youtube/vimeo channel I can follow? I'm really interested to see what the resulting video looks like. No you tube channel but I will forward you some vids when it comes in and I have a few. I talked with the Soloshot folks about its specs and it sounds like it will work base rotation speed is 80 degrees a second so I'm planning on setting it back a bit and try to work on the auto zoom. There is a good swooper at the local DZ that I plan on using to test it. For me I hope to be able to use it to work on improving my mechanics. I'll let you know when I get it. 8. Looking for a reserve canopy with tray. The DPRE I will be going to would like me to have packed one at least a few times so I have at least a basic idea of the principles and techniques. If you have one I would happily pay the shipping to me and return shipping back to you when i finish. And beer!!! :) "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  9. I'm currently practicing and studying to attempt to get a Senior Rigger Cert. and looking for a round reserve to practice on. It does not need to be airworthy since it will only be used for practice packs. Have not had any success locating one in my area. Any help would be appreciated. 10. AFF completion allows you to jump self supervised (solo) or with a Coach rated jumper or a jumper who holds a "D" license and with a small group if a Coach or "D" license jumper is with you. An "A" license allows you to jump with any licensed skydiver and group or of course solo. I was recently in Zhills for a Rating Course and the people and instructors there are first rate. 11. Rumor? I was not challanging how the USPA or the manufacturers came to require medical certificates. They do regardless of the FAA and I follow those requirements. Personally I have no issue with them continuing with the requirements. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  12. As I understand, the class III medical requirement for TI's is a USPA requirement not an FAA requirement. What it takes to obtain one is FAA stipulated. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  13. Almost exactly what folks recommended to me when I was traveling recently. Cruised through TSA without any problem............but.......did not even think about the hook knife! That could have had some negative results. Whew. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  14. Just noticed that Gary had attached a link to te article earlier. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  15. Aside from the question of the plane requirements, there is an excellent article on what is needed by the FAA when making off normal DZ jumps authored by Gary Peek and Mike Mullins. Both are long time jumpers and pilots and they give a well thought out explanation. You can find the article by utilizing the site search feature under search (article) for ( notam). 16. He never claimed he applied or attended. It is possible at the time he talked with the General he understood he may be able to receive an endorsement if he applied. That would be very feasible. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  17. Carson never claimed to have gone to WP. And the General did go to a fund raising dinner in Detroit that year just the month was stated incorrectly. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  18. Actually there is a form. You can download it at USPA.org/downloads. Its listed under all downloads and forms. The requirements for authorized signatures are listed in Section 6-11 of the SIMS. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"

  20. Fairly new as a TI. I was trained that either re-attaching to the student or the TI was ok, so I have been clipping back on the student. After reading the thoughts here I spent the weekend re-attaching to me. The couple of seconds to release after landing were simple enough so you all have converted me. 21. And yet they don't annoy you enough to install Adblock. Truly, the site admins must love you. Actually I find some of the ads on this site interesting and look into them. I'm sure your opinion of this just needed to be posted. Thanks. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  22. Here are two screen shots where I just got bumped too. Got bumped to the second one while trying to attach the first. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  23. Had the same problem at AFF4 a few years ago. 15 minutes with a coach at Paraclete had it fixed. Actually the first three minutes fixed it and the next 4 flights for three minutes each had me practicing basic flying skill maneuvers. Be sure to talk to the coach about what your having issues with. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  24. Yes and it is annoying as hell. "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
  25. Don't worry about the ground...you are going to get there! "You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
