  1. Thank you for your answers.
I did ask the rigger, and he wasnt very interested in giving me an explanation. He just said, cut here and is all good. There is also the language barrier, Im spanish, in germany at the moment, the rigger doesnt speak english or spanish, and my german is a bit limited.
In any case, I did as the rigger told me, cut the excess with a pair of scissors and it looks nice now.
I thought Id double check with you guys

    Thanks again!

  2. Morning guys!

    I have a question :)
Yesterday, I landed and while I was setting my brakes I realized that in the left steering line, a piece of line was protruding out from the center of the line towards the surface, sort of like a steering line herniation :D (I hope you guys understand what I mean, english is not my first language and this technical stuff confuses me a little)
I showed a rigger who was there ( not my usual guy as Im jumping outside of my home country atm) and he just said to pull the excess, cut it, and push the edge back into the main line. Almost like if the line was made out of a core line and some sort of casing, leaving, in escence the casing only.
My question is, is this safe? Should I get a rigger to change the line? If so, should I ground the rig until Is changed, or can I do the 12 jumps I already booked before I go home?
    Thanks!
Maybe I should mention that the canopy is a brand new pilot with less than 30 jumps on it.

I use that one. Carries my Icon 5, helmet, camara gear, tablet, two freefly suits and a few bits and pieces.
Costs about 50 bucks depending on the rate the day you order and its pretty well built :)

  4. Nothing to be worried about :)

Just keep using saline spray and blowing your nose during your skydiving days. If the pain is bad try some pain killers. Id go with ibuprofen, as its good for pain and inflammation.

As for the valsava... Try this instead if you need it :)

    Good luck!!!

Edit to add: The ears comment goes for the Valsava manouver, not by ur sinuses. Dont panic! :D

  5. The eustachian tubes connects the nasopharinx with the middle ear. The valsava manuever (Which can damage your middle ear) should not be used lightly.

The sinuses are connected to the nose via small ostia. These small openings can get inflamed upon contact with cold air preventing pressure equalization. Im guessing that is his problem, it is also known as barosinusitis or aerosinusitis.

To all of the rest of skydivers. STOP USING AND RECOMENDING VALSAVA! It is actually quite possible to damage your middle ear with it. Chew gum, yawn (learn the proper technique, once mastered the pressure equalization achieved by yawning is better than any other techniques)

Best regards and take care of your ears. Once they are gone, they ARE gone, and being deaf is NOT fun!

  6. Do you have a history of sinusitis? Allergies? Any ear pain?
Sounds to me as if the small ostia connecting your frontal sinuses to your nose gets inflamed as a response to the cold air on altitude and so the difference in air pressure is giving you pain.
You could try with nasal irrigation and saline nasal spray.

    Good luck :)

    In the same article.
Also, he got the weapons from his fathers collection. (crossbow and knifes)
Imagine if his father had a collection of assault rifles...

The Spaniards had a history of using crossbows to inflict genocide on conquered civilians. Glad to see they're hanging onto their past. Imagine if German dads kept collections of Zyklon B in their closets.

Things that make you go hmmm.

The things i learn in dz :D

  8. Hiya!

So Im moving to Munich in the next few weeks and Im looking for a DZ to carry on skydiving.
As long as they skydive all year round, they have a turboprop and people are cool I am happy :)
    Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

  10. Thanks for the replies.

I did jump the side plate. But to be honest, I have read so many threads about snag hazards that it makes me feel a bit paranoid and so im not "confortable" jumping it.
The sticky mount has a bigger chance of being "torn" I guess if something should happen.
I will get a fuel or something similar with a cutaway soon but for now, for my peace of mind I feel a little better with the sticky mount.
Also, when I jumped the AS30V side mounted you could see my helmet on the side of the video and pics (see pic).

    Thanks!

P.S. If you know of a side mount other than the cookie Sleeve id love to hear about it though, thanks! :)

  11. Does anyone have an idea on how to mount this camera on a G3? I had the As30V with the cookie sleeve but sold it today and I never really felt "confortable" with the side mount anyway. I was thinking about mounting it on top but the Sony sticky tape doesnt "feel" as strong as the go pro sticky mount.
    Thanks!

  12. DSE

in-camera is _always_ preferable due to loss of resolution and recompression.

All of the new Sony's do pretty well. on the super small front, I'm particularly impressed with the AS30 and AS100 cameras.

I log in almost every day twice to see if you have posted your review / comparison.
    Cant wait man! :)

  13. Cool!!

The Jojowings is made in the Czech Republic AFAIK.
It´s listed in Basik.fr, for example, at around 1400 Eur + shipping.

I´ll see what can be done. Need to get this guy ready for the helicopter jumps coming up soon :)

    Thanks!

  14. Hy guys!

Im trying to help my friend finding a rig. It is kinda hard since he is not the tallest guy in the world (168 cm/ 5.5) nor the heaviest (68Kg/150 Lbs). Main should be 150-170 range

    We found this:

    Vector Micron V 308 11/2004 = cca 500 jump
    PD 143 R 05/2006 = 0 jumps
    Sonic 150 04/2012 = 60 jumps
    Vigil II. 03/2012

The dude is asking for 3800 Eur /5200 Usd which I believe its kinda expensive.
The kit is on pretty good condition ( The guy chose the container in white so its kinda dirty but I guess it can be cleaned)
Do you guys think that price is fair and if not, what price do you think that kit is worth?

    Thanks!

PS. We are in Europe, if someone is selling something along those lines Id love to hear about it :)
