  1. Before you say it, I already searched this and read most of the posts relating to the topic. So I'm looking at buying my first freefly suit. Any recommendations? I really like the look of tonfly and vertical suits, but would one of those be too advanced for a novice freeflyer? I know liquid sky is great but their lead time is too long for me to consider them, so please dont recommend them. Thanks! Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  2. I just moved to the Bay Area, does anyone know of a tunnel league at the iFly here? Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  3. I usually jump in Lodi...that place is the bomb. In the middle of winter (lol i know winter in california) they are turning like 15 lodes in a day and in the summer ive heard its 50. Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  4. I recently went to a new DZ and they were charging $27 (maybe $28) for 12000ft. I was wondering what is the most expensive jump ticket you've seen at at DZ in the USA? Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  5. I love the app but there is no way, to my knowledge, to delete one point without creating an entirely new dive.
  6. So im looking at this rig and its a '99 Infinity with a '97 Tempo 210 NO main NO ADD the guy is asking $1400 for the entire setup. I asked some of the guys at the DZ and they said its okay, so I wanted to get the opinion of the internet. Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  7. I know exactly the feeling the beginner gear disappears so quickly and it usually costs more than other rigs Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...

  9. IM looking at an 02 Javelin, is that considered a freefly friendly rig? I know in about 2002 all rigs (well most) became FFF and I just want to make sure i get something that isnt going to pop early Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  10. This is a complete shot in the dark, but who knows it might work. I'm hooked on skydiving but I dont have a car. Does anyone live in Boulder who would be interested in carpooling to Longmont with me? When I say carpooling I mean you drive and I pay for some gas or a jump ticket. Just in case your curious no I am not a creep just a someone who needs a ride PM me if your interested Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...

  12. Im looking at buying a used rig and the container was made in 95 and the main canopy was made in 97, is that too old? I emailed and asked about jump numbers as the ad didnt have any listed, ill throw those up once he replies. In any case whats your general rule of thumb to determine if something is too old to jump? Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  13. Im ordering a new wings container and I cant seem to create a design that I love so I thought y'all might be able to help me out. Make a design on the wings website (http://skydivewings.com/PimpMyWings/), then take a screen shot of it and post the picture on this thread. After 3 days ill look at all the posts and ill buy a jump ticket for the person who submitted it. Rules 1. Must be the original wings 2. Cant have any tie dye on it unless you have some sweet connection that could hook it up for free 3. The DZ must be in the US 4. The jump has to be a normal 8-18k ft. jump ticket, not some 30000ft specialty jump If your doubting the fact that ill actually follow through I admit this does seem sketch, but even if I dont, youll spend maybe 5 minutes making a rig that could win you a free jump. I think the risk is worth it. THIS IS NOT A SCAM. After I choose the winner, ill call the DZ of their choosing and buy a jump ticket on the phone. I will not contact you aside from the congratulatory message and to get the name of your DZ. GOOD LUCK Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  14. I know its not a solid deal the rig is way over priced. I was talking about his companies return policy. Im also aware that there is gear out there that will fit, its just that most of the time it will be from the 90's or have some super high performance canopy in it. That leaves only a small amount of gear to choose from and more often than not its crap like this mirage. Ill guess ill have to keep looking. Thanks for all the help Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  15. Im not sure if the gear the right size for me, the dealer is located in California and said the company has a 15 day money back guarantee so I could try it on, get it inspected, jump it, and return it for a full refund. Which is a pretty solid deal. I just finished up my gold card so im still quite inexperienced. My exit weight is around 220 lbs, keep in mind that I live in Colorado and my DZ is at 5200 ft so my canopy should be larger than some who jumps at sea level. I get that the gear is expensive but finding a rig that fits someone who is 6'3" is ridiculously difficult, so any time a rig for a big guy like me comes on the market i immediately becoming interested. Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  16. IM looking at buying a used Mirage G4, Specter 210, PDR 193, and Cypres 2. The main and AAD were both made in '03 and the reserve was made in '04. Supposedly the whole this only has 50 jumps but who knows if that's true. Anyways the reserve has one ride on it, is that a big deal? (if you only going to give a little piece of advice this is what im most curious about) Also the Cypres is in need of the 8 year service, so thats inconvenient but not a huge deal. Now that yall know all the facts the seller is asking $5000 plus the cost of shipping. I feel like thats a little high, im thinking $4500 is a fair price since the reserve has been ridden and the cypres needs service. What is a fair price in your opinion? Im new to skydiving so anything helps
  17. Im sure this has been asked before so I apologize if any veterans feel like m wasting your time. I did search for it before posting, but nothing came up. Anyways, im looking to buy a helmet and have a couple of questions. Would it be dumb to buy a open face helmet with mounting surface now with the intention of putting cameras on it later? I dont have 200 jumps yet but I know that once I get more comfortable and more jumps I will mount a gopro or something to my helmet, so it seems silly to me to buy a helmet now just to buy a more camera friendly one later. Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  18. Im going to be moving to Boulder this fall and was wondering what the best DZ in the area was? I've read a little bit online found a place called the independent skydive company, has anyone been there? If so, how was it? Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. 19. Although I have no experience painting helmets I saw this G3 on Jeb Corliss's Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=345765552133071&set=a.174465782596383.34744.171260932916868&type=3&theater), he also provides the link for the artist who did the painting, so im sure you could ask him for some professional advice. Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
  20. Im looking to buy my first rig, and I found a used Vortex 2 that sounds (assuming the guy is telling the truth) to be perfectly sized for me. Im just wondering what opinions you guys have on the Vortex 2? Also is $1900 too much for a Vortex with 300 jumps and a 4 year old PDR 160? Anything helps Its Monday, Ill ask the same question at the DZ on Saturday. When I'm there...
