I haven't edited in HD yet, but it is HD. I have an HD camcorder, but for now am shooting in standard mode. Rarely do I use iMovie, and I prefer iMovie 06. It is HD also, but i think it is better than 08. If I'm not mistaken, I think that you can download the 06 version from Apple for free: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/imovieHD6.html. I would also get quicktime pro. It gives you a more choices when you export.

Why are you using iMovie '08? It's worth the money to buy Final Cut Express.

Trunk, Can you post it on something besides youtube? They have it blocked here at work. I have have 2 canopies deployed below me, both in competition. The first was two guys messing around at the end of a dive, I had just let go of my pc when I saw one guy reach and pull the other one. Luckily, both of our canopies open at about the same speed. The second was during the jump on the close of a block, purely accidental. I dug my knees and watched my wife slow down dramatically. The judges didn't even give us the point for the close of block. My advice for 4 way video is to stay on the outer edge of the feet/ burble. This gives you a good angle for the judges and keeps you clear of prematures.

I did the OJ dash through O'Hare with my rig on like a backpack to make a flight. I was the last one on the plane as the door was closing...... Got some interesting looks from people wondering if it was a parachute.

I agree, I always keep my head down through opening shock. I also stow my brake lines a lot better than that.

I had a riser hit the latch on my ftp in a competition jump directly over the hanger. Luckily I caught it with my knees. One ohter time I hit the door on climb out and popped the latch. Reached up and caught the helmet, but knocked the still off in the process. Climbed back in, snapped it back on, climbed out and shot the tandem video. Got on the ground and apologized that they wouldn't be getting any stills . Have since created my own latch protection system.

I jump the HC9. No issues so far. I put it in an original cookie HC3 box and it fits great. I do not use IO. At the beginning of the day you need to check your auto/ manual focus. Still learning all the ins and outs of the thing. Even shooting in SD the colors seem brighter and more detailed. Even going head down on tandem exits seem to be fine. It's been great so far.

"The only point of loosening a chest strap is to let a canopy fly flatter, and increase performance since its projected area becomes larger, while not increasing drag." What about comfort?? I agree with what it does for performance, but it also more comfortable to loosen your chest strap once the canopy is open. Not everything has to be about performance.
