  1. Good evening, Upon further review, posts, and speaking with someone while in Sebastian, I have decided to go ahead with the IAF training. I thank everyone who has given me the proper feedback. I greatly appreciate it. I will definitely buy my own goggles, gloves and altimeter. If I am allowed to purchase my own helmet for training I will do so. I am not fond of having to share helmets with countless students. I thank cocheese for his advice and I am glad that every one pushed on and made it. On behalf of your response to God, there was no need for you to go off rambling about God not existing. I have my reasons for believing and will continue to stand in my faith. As it is, I think for myself and those around me with out a problem. For the record, I am free thanks to Jesus Christ. If someone does not agree with me and my being, I am okay with that. I came here to seek help for sky diving, not my beliefs. I understand that in AFF I will have two instructors, I just believe that with a tandem there is immediate feedback from the instructor. Even if I take a few days, I am okay with it as I want to be as prepared as possible without overloading my self. How soon may I finish this training if I have the time to jump daily? Thank you all and God Bless
  2. Thank you to all whom have replied. I greatly appreciate your feedback. Yes, I have been told that AFF is faster and it will save money I just feel as if I will feel a lot more comfortable after making A few jumps with someone. By all means, I feel that I will be able to complete the AFF but I am trying to play this safe and get as much practice as possible before going solo. For all I know, I try it once and choose to go straight to AFF but I rather do it this way and feel more comfortable Also, thank you for pointing out that my sites were made into links. Thank you for that (airtwardo). I really appreciate it. To the ones that wrote things that had nothing to do with this, I appreciate your participation in my thread. I know I set my self up for it. The link, was not appreciated. I am glad that You all have a sense of humor and that's great. Thanks for not making this so serious... Also, what are your opinions regarding altimeters, goggles, or anything that a "newbie" may need. Once again, thank you to all. God Bless You
  3. Thank you for the information regarding the post. I mentioned that I was cross posting and if they were to be deleted then okay. Thank you for the rules I won't cross post I just was not sure which section to place it in. Regarding the edit quote...my apologies for that. When I performed the copy and paste that came out. I kept reading it wondering what in the world.... Yes, in simple terms it would be either tandem or AFF for my training. I just don't know what the different training name will do for a program. The reason I would pick tandem is For immediate feedback from an instructor as well as step by step. I am not clumsy I just want to practice and do this in a way that feels somewhat safe Thank you and my apologies once again.
  4. Thank you for the straight AFF suggestion...may I know your reason behind it? Will tandems help me on my own? My first tandem included a left and right turn....that was it.
  5. I know I have posted this in another section. Please remove from the incorrect area if need be. Thank you. Which would you recommend? Haha Edit | Delete | Quote | Reply Hello everyone, As some of you may have seen in my earlier post, I was torn between a few DZs for my training. I have narrowed it down to two and would like to know which package you all recommend from the following DZs available packages. This is the Link... http://www.skydivemiami.com/site/pop-ups/gravitypacks.aspx I am Unsure As To how to post the link and I apologize For Making it more Difficult. I do not know much about the trainings and it is difficult to get info over the phone without speaking to an instructor. Your responses are greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. 7. Thank you both for your information. It is greatly appreciated. I have contemplated purchasing two altimeters due to being on the safe side and taking precaution. I do not know how that would go as a student considering there are many things to worry about. Yes, I have considered both Miami and Zephyr hills. Miami is rather expensive when compared to the other drop zones and I rather take a drive some where else. The benefit of being near the house is the time and money considering the fact that I will be hoping for good weather. i would definitely travel else where to get this done. i am very interested in your services. Please send me a PM with further information. For some reason, I am unable to send a PM. Thank you Do you know if DZs price match considering they are about $400 more expensive than the next DZ? That would be great. Thank you both for your time. It is greatly appreciated.
  8. Good evening everyone, My name is Rick. I had been browsing as a guest until I decided to really take up this sport. Therefore, I went ahead and signed up. The information, advice, friendliness is beyond many of the forums I have visited. I want to thank the moderators and all of the board members for a great place which made me feel comfortable even before becoming a member. A little bit about me.... I went ahead and completely my first tandem jump at SkyDive Space Center. I had a wonderful experience, my video came out wonderful, and the staff was extremely nice. Now, I am stuck in a mind battle. I live down in Homestead, FL near Sky Dive Miami. My issue is: should I go ahead and complete my AFF at SkyDive Miami even though they are more money than Space Center considering travel expenses that will be incurred traveling to SC. I would be making a three to four day trip out of this in an effort to knock out AFF in a few days. Or do you all recommend another location? I would like to received as many opinions as possible. By no means, am I trying to knock any DZ but I am trying to find the best place for this as well read the opinion of those whom have been there first hand. My apologies in advance, I mean no trouble with anyone. I am just a student, looking for the best place to attain my AFF training at the cheapest price but with the best service and training Thank you all for your time. It is greatly appreciated. Also, does any recommend me purchasing my own altimeter, helmet, or anything else that may be needed? God Bless, Rick
