Jason, Your father got me into skydiving. I first met Chris when I was in high school in the late '60s. We were in an astronomy club in Dallas. He mentioned to me that he jumped and I went out to Cedar Hill, Tx to watch one day. I was hooked. He "trained" me and sneaked me out to a DZ in Roanoke, TX, gave me a logbook that indicated I had already jumped before, and there I made my first two jumps. I made my next two in Valley Mills. I have a photo of my first jump and it shows me wearing a helmet with "RANSON" on the front.
