  1. I did my AFF when I was 16 and there was not a single person who thought it was too young or would be a problem. As long as you have parents permission, complete the theory side of the course and demonstrate a level of maturity there should be nothing stopping you. If anything it is better to start young, it gets you out of all the beer fines you will encounter
  2. Skydive Maitland is also a pretty good option. It's near Newcastle (oz) and they are starting mid weeks jumps again for summer. It's not the biggest DZ around but there are always fun jumpers keem to jump
  3. Hey all, I am 17 have been skydiving for almost a year now and due to my light weight (52 kg) I have been struggling to keep up with other jumpers and it is impacting on my B-rels. I am looking into getting a weight belt however I have a colostomy and I am worried that a belt might cause damage if I had a hard opening or something similar. I have tried a weight vest, however this was not really suitable. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hamster
  4. Hey guys, I just thought that I would say hi and introduce myself. I completed my AFF late last year when I was only 16. I have a colostomy but I don't let that stop me. I jump at Skydive Maitland and have done 33 jumps. I look forward to meeting new people both online and at the dropzone.
  5. I have just turned 17 and have been jumping for a few months already and I have a permanent colostomy. I have had no problems with it so far and I notice no difference while jumping from 14,000ft compared to a hop and pop. The only thing I have found is to make sure the bottom of the bag is not tucked under the leg strap. This happened to me during a high speed reserve deployment and the shock nearly pulled the bag off. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I hope all goes well for you.
