    One Liners!

The violation of it is part of what made rec.skydiving become unusable. I really dislike the idea of censorship in general, but the free speech of the US constitution didn't include the idea of this technological amplification of each person's voice to the point where a few people could make it almost impossible for everybody else to talk to each other. I still don't know what I think about that, but meanwhile I find dropzone.com to be much more usable. Categories of threads instead of one big conversation is a good idea too. It helps deal with the volume. Thanks for creating this place. Skr
  2. > if skydiving was completely safe, would it lose some of > its appeal ? I wonder if this is age related? I didn't start out for the danger, I wanted to swoop and soar and fall through the air and be out in space and be weightless and stuff like that. The danger was there though and I remember in my 20's and 30's having a taste for activities and situations where I had to do everything perfect or die. I believe it was the level of one pointed concentration required as much as the adrenaline. In fact I later began to wonder why I had to use a crutch like skydiving to get so concentrated and that kind of led off into meditation and stuff. But now I'm 60 and for the last 10 years, maybe 15 or 20, I really haven't liked the danger. I just like to swoop and soar and coach and play around. Skr
  3. I tried to register once a few months ago. I filled out the form and submitted it and got back the response that the server was not available because it was being moved. A few weeks ago I tried again using the same login (skr) and got the response that it was already taken. I tried logging in as skr using the password from the original attempt a few months ago and it let me in. I've made a couple posts and they seem to be there .. BUT! :-) :-) If I search for user skr from the search box on the left side of the main page http://www.dropzone.com/ I get Your search returned 2 matches Name Username Country william walls skreamer United Kingdom View Profile Kristen Coulter misskriss United States View Profile ---- If I go to one my posts and click on Full Profile I get Your search returned 0 matches Name Username Country ---- If I go to http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi and click on edit profile that screen seems to work - both User Profile and Display settings, but I've looked around and can't find where people put in their type of gear and ratings and stuff. 4. >Ok..I need some advice, after AFF and the consols.. >What should I look at next ? I would put some genuine effort into parachuting fundamentals - canopy control, exit separation, spotting, tracking, gear, packing ... And I would think about who I want to be in the skydiving world and who I want to hang out with, artist, innovator, competitor, recreational weekender, world traveler ... Each generation puts a lot of effort into doing the current fashion, style and accuracy, stars, sequential, freestyle, boards, head down, wingsuits, but you need the fundamentals and some sense of who you are as a compass as the fashions come and go.
