Same here..... Almost 700 jumps and never had higher wing load then 1.3. Also technically jumping a canopy size not yet allowed by Dutch rules for my experience . Well at least I don't have the desire yet to go super fast... safire 2 :D jumped the Sabre 2 for a while - flies great but Sabre 2's are known to swing around on opening and that's what mine did. Safire 2 opens great - soft and always on heading (unless I do something weird). Also I find the toggle pressure lighter and more fun to fly. At almost 500 jumps I am still doing 'baby' approaches (not using my front risers basically because I have no interest in that - yet) and my Safire gives me with no wind a nice 'swoop' while flaring because it flies so flat. I demoed the Pilot as well - I think it has a combination of both Sabre 2 and Safire 2 but found it a little more boring.... good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

Noticed that indeed with some good advice from Dave in the end. My comment was not really appropiate to your topic though but reading through it and through the lines I had the impression that you really wanted to point out that you know a lot because you are a flight instructor. But it doesn't matter what you are and what you do! And in my opinion it doesn't really work in any aspect of aviation when you point out to much how good you are. And that was just the feeling I got reading here. Anyway good luck with your course and just really start from scratch when you join your FJC, and even put the 'things you learned online' a bit to the background that day and have fun! Flight instructors are Skygods and know everything. In case no one noticed. They are better then anyone else. offtopic: not sure if you EVER want to join an airline but with this attitude will be REALLY hard to join and survive. good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

I wouldn't compare flying under a canopy too much with flying an airplane. It's very different and confusing if you look at flying a canopy from an airplane pilot's perspective when you start jumping. Just don't worry too much and enjoy your first jump course. And it might be better for you when you leave your flying and flight instructor knowledge at home for that day and start absorbing all the new information instead comparing. good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

Faster yes, but you'll never notice the relative speed in an airliner. Also max cabin altitude is around 6-8000 ft max so unless you're just doing hop & pops, as skydiver you will have a lot more exposure to lower O2. Another thing is the radiation which you have at high altitudes and they say it is bad for airline crew but you will not really get exposed to that during skydiving. good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

Sorry, didn't really know the statistics, but that was what we used to say to our passengers on aerial flights when they asked how dangerous it was to fly on a small airplane. I just assumed the risk was similar flying a small plane and jumping from it :) good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

I'm sure everyone is aware of the risk there is in the sport. But let's see it like this. The risk might be higher you die in a car accident on your way to the DZ or work. What would you think now everytime you drive to work? Leave a letter in case you won't make it back..? If I were you I would make some 20 jumps more and then re-asses your thoughts... If you still feel the same, consider if you really want to continue. If you don't, you understand everything everyone is writing here now. Another example; I work as a pilot, of which 4 year in general aviation and 6 months in an airline now. I my career, I have witnessed a crash, I have known 5 or 6 persons personally who died in a crash, and a few more not personally. That is horrible in such a short time hey? But would it stop me flying and renting a small single engine airplane in my free time: NO. Yes there is a risk, similar compared to skydiving. But if you true love what you're doing you will be aware and deal with that risk... So if you continue jumping, go to the DZ early, ask good advise and don't worry too much!! good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

Make 10 or 20 jumps more and ask yourself the same question again. And for those jumps, instead of 'trusting your gear' at that time, trust us saying that you can trust your gear. Also start packing, learning how a parachute is packed gives you more confidence in how it all works. Hi all, I am looking to obtain my USPA license next time I am in the USA (have now a Dutch B). I think I have to sign off the A requirements by an instructor and then apply for a B (or C) license after I have those requirements, but I can't find the specifications of 'Maneuvers and Water training' on the USPA website. What are the required manevers and where can I do a water training? I am not looking forward to jump into a pool with my own rig... guess there is training material for it? And for the theory exam, are the questions based on the SIM or is there further study material? Thanks for helping out, could not find the ansers on my questions onlne. Why do so many people with low jump numbers want to jump with camera's? I'm happy that my country has a 200-formation-jumps rule and I have no desires to jump with one earlier. I think it's way more important to work on your flying skills first and when you finally have one maybe you would be able to see something on your footage good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

Heard that security can ask questions sometimes (bring your cypres card) or maybe the girls at check in but they are both independent from the airline. If in doubt have your rig as checked luggage. But if you can't lock your suitcase I wouldn't do that . Anyway I wouldn't worry that much, have a good trip :) good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere
