Construction fencing is in place!

Yeah - you just never know with those government types in Johnson County. I heard this was the same City Council that wanted an off-white White Castle!!

I went to the Overland Park City Council meeting on Monday night where this project was discussed again. Since the last meeting, the Council decided to educate themselves (or were educated by someone else) on what the tunnel was... and what kind of revenue it could bring to the city. And lo-and-behold... the Council was unanimously on board at Monday night's meeting. The tunnel is going to be built... and in talking to the iFly rep that was at the meeting, they want to be open by the end of this year. They have some designs issues to work through with regards to signage and the design of the parking lot, but IT IS HAPPENING! I'm preparing to be perpetually poor.......

Don't hold your breath... this isn't the first time we've been promised a tunnel. I'll believe it when they break ground.

+1 Fogging problems since day 1. I've tried leaving the helmet off until just before exit... I've worn it during the ride to altitude. Both ways, I've gotten fog. Then again, maybe I'm just a heavy breather....

OK..... so I SUCK at math!!! ...and just as quick, we're back down.

I calculated 2:05 per jump to get to 700. 24 hrs x 60 mins = 1,440 minutes 1,440 / 700 = 2.05714286 min per jump I'm getting the M3U8 error too now.

Been watching for a little bit. Seems he's averaging about 2 mins 20 secs per jump (feet down to feet down). Last run there wasn't a plane there to meet him!

I read an article yesterday about whether suicide was selfish. The gal that wrote it had almost killed herself. "Suicide is a decision made out of desperation, hopelessness, isolation and loneliness. The black hole that is clinical depression is all-consuming. Feeling like a burden to loved ones, feeling like there is no way out, feeling trapped and feeling isolated are all common among people who suffer from depression. People who say that suicide is selfish always reference the survivors. It's selfish to leave children, spouses and other family members behind, so they say. They're not thinking about the survivors, or so they would have us believe. What they don't know is that those very loved ones are the reason many people hang on for just one more day. They do think about the survivors, probably up until the very last moment in many cases. But the soul-crushing depression that envelops them leaves them feeling like there is no alternative. Like the only way to get out is to opt out. And that is a devastating thought to endure. Until you've stared down that level of depression, until you've lost your soul to a sea of emptiness and darkness... you don't get to make those judgments. You might not understand it, and you are certainly entitled to your own feelings, but making those judgments and spreading that kind of negativity won't help the next person. In fact, it will only hurt others."

Sorry to hear you didn't get Princess - but as you've said, maybe it was meant to work out that way. Rest assured another kitty WILL come along and steal your heart. And kudos to you for rescuing. There are so many GREAT animals in shelters!!!

I'd call whoever has her right now and tell her you'll be there to pick her up Friday. That way, there's no way she'll be taken by someone else! One thing I'd add to your list of things to get is a good brush. Shedding during the summer can get crazy if you don't brush them regularly. Edit: sorry, just saw you had brush on there!!! Enjoy that beautiful girl!!

From one CCL to a CCL-In-Training... GO GET HER NOW (if you haven't already). I've moved with my cats (yes plural) and they've all done just fine. Give her some extra attention during and right after the move and she'll be good. In case you didn't get that first part... GO. GET. HER.

I've never understood pre-naming kids. Yeah - have some ideas in mind but when the kid pops out, you may get the feeling that some other completely different name fits better. To each their own though...

Check out Ozark Skydive Center (www.ozskydive.com). They're a little closer (Miller, MO) than Freefall Express but not by much! There's also Skydive Kansas City - which is actually south of KC in Butler, MO (www.skydivekc.com). Not sure exactly where you'll be but there's a couple of different options for you. Blue skies!
