  1. What kind of person dyes their hair to go to Montana? Seriously now.
  2. First I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but has anyone got an official confirmation on if someone is going to be responsible for putting together the boogie video this year. Not getting one for 2006 was like not having Christmas. And not having one this year would simply be criminal. If nobody is doing it yet I hereby nominate vdschoor. He doesn't have anything better to do with his time than spending hours sifting through footage and throwing shit together.
  3. Anyone leaving from or driving through Spokane for the Prairie on July 27th that might have room for one more and some luggage?
  4. Tell me about it; I've been MIA. But I can't wait to be home! (at least for a few months...) So is a keg the standard beer payment at Prairie instead of a case? The important thing is to simply never want a beer and not have one. If you run out, shame on you. Stock them deep and cold. Be sure to hide em' from the locals... ...and the fucking Canadians.
  5. Don't complain. That's where I do my best work.
  6. This is an odd story based on hearsay, but here goes. I moved from Maine to Florida to stay with my father during my senior year of High School. While there an incident occurred in which a teen from Maine under similar circumstances to mine, with either the same or similar name to mine was reported to have been killed by his father during a dispute over using a car. My mother caught wind of this and called me to check on my status. When I answered the phone she asked me how I was. Being unaware of the story I unenthusiastically said, "Oh... I'm alive." I never saw this article but when I returned to Maine I did have a few people state that they had heard that I had be killed. I think it's pretty funny but to this day my father is not amused.
  7. I've put off turning my hobby into my job for as long as I reasonably could. But for the sake of my financial security I have decided to start flying camera (pending approval). So now I'm trying to figure what kind of helmet to buy I already have a PC330 that I am quite fond of as my video camera, and the Canon Rebel XTi has the popular vote at my DZ as the best value in still cameras. With that out of the way I have a few key concerns: Foremost is the issue of top mounting cameras. I am 6'9" and am already doing my best to avoid dragging my skull across the ceiling of the King Air without a camera. Furthermore, I have a full-on giraffe neck and am worried about opening shock with camera weight so far past my shoulders. I'd like to balance snag point reduction with ready access to media, Finally I'd like the helmet to be highly resistant to shifting in freefall. I really like the forehead still mount and rear-entry configuration of the Bonehead Flat-Top Narrow. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to lend itself to side mounting video. Is there something similar that does? Any other recommendations?
  8. Any additional contributions towards the memorial spread will be passed along to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of Staten Island. This is an organization that has been very helpful to Cliff's family.
  9. WE DID IT!!! We have collected enough money for the two page spread in Parachutist! Not that I had any doubt we would . I have updated the contribution web page with a link to one of Tom's favorite charities, Jump for the Cause. It also now states that any additional donations to the spread will go towards a cause to be determined by Cliff's family and friends. You'll know when I know what that is. I know you are all so sick of being thanked by now. Tough!!! Thanks again. I'm very proud of all of you!
  10. Wow! We just got a huge show of support from Northern California. I should have been updating you guys more regularly! Our current contribution total is just under $2650 We are soooo in the home stretch. Thanks so much for making this a reality everyone.
  11. We're looking at about $1700 so far. Contributions are trickling in at this point. But I believe by this weekend we should have all we need.
  12. I'm glad you asked. Once we have achieved the goal for the Parachutist spread I was considering disabling the PayPal link and replacing it with links to the charities they favored or perhaps funds their families had established. It has been mentioned that Tom was keen on donating to breast cancer research so barring any other suggestions I'll link to that for him. If anyone can think of an appropriate cause for Cliff I'd be happy to link to it as well.
  13. Updates: Here is what I pulled from the Parachutist 2006 rate card. The inside back cover is $1565 and Full adjacent page is $845 (Standard B&W) Plus $435 for it to be in color I'd also like to add another $100 to buy a couple dozen copies for Tom and Cliff's famalies. Total $2945 Our current collection status is at about $1350 so we are nearing the half way mark We'll be having a gathering in Byron this Sat (Jan 13th 6:00 PM) and I imagine we can collect some more then. We'll get there. No question about that.
  14. Sure anyone needing to send contributions via regular mail can PM me and I'll PM you back with my address. Just be sure none of you freaks show up on my doorstep.
  15. Sure thing. I posted it pretty late and it's still really early on the West Coast but we've already collected: $486.15 USD I'll figure PalPal fees into it later. I'm going jumping but I'll look into adding and updating tally information on the web page. Thanks guys. I can't imagine a better group of people.
  16. First you have our deepest condolences and warmest regards. I believe the back inside cover and adjacent full page in Parachutist is about $2000. In the past we found skydivers to be obscenely generous in meeting these goals. I think I speak for all of us when I say we would like the honor of giving your family several copies as a gift.
  17. I have set up a web page to collect funds towards a two page Parachutist spread for Tommy and Cliff. Click here to see the thread. And here to see the contribution page.
  18. And done. Since I haven't heard any objections I've had a friend develop the a web page for contributions towards a two page Parachutist spread for Tom and Cliff. If you'd like to see it and/or contribute click here . Special thanks to Beverly Young for creating the web page.
  19. I found someone to create the page using photos I pulled off the above posts. If anyone knows their birthdays I'd like to include that information.
  20. Cool thanks. I see that PayPal has a system set up for setting up donations. Looks as though their site will generate code you can use to put a button on a website. The button links to a paypal form they can use to make the donation. Perhaps someone more web development / graphic design savvy could assemble a page the button can be hosted on?
