2 pointsThey've got us by the short hairs and they know it. I don't expect them to miss a single opportunity while the getting is good. And the good getting isn't likely to end anytime soon.

1 pointThis ad and the fact that the DZ was a JumpShack dealer led to me to 3 purchases over the years. As an FNG I could strongly relate to the message :)

1 pointSome googling turns up that it is possible to court-martial military retirees. Michael "Fifth" Flynn needs to be court-martialed and stripped of his retirement benefits.

1 pointThe Bellingham Herald article Nov 1987 (mentioned on Shutters site) Tina says Cooper had tobacco stained teeth.. this has never been mentioned before.. however, if you read the entire article there are many gross errors.. So, is it legit... maybe, maybe not.. Based on the other obvious gross errors in the article, I don't give it much credit without some other confirmation.

1 pointI heard the Missouri polítician who drove their bill explain it. At least some of the children of rapists (the ones she spoke to) feel their life is worth living. Remember that women who gave birth sometimes need to justify to themselves why it was right in retrospect, and it’s pretty clear that she only really heard one set of respondents People who cannot conceive of a world without them are, I think, more likely to be anti-abortion. Because the lives we have now are destiny, or something like that. Wendy P.

1 pointEnd of the Trump era? In your dreams. Even if he’s not directly involved in politics in the next few years (and I think he will be) the damage he’s done to societal norms will be felt for decades, if not longer.

1 pointThe secret service is at fault here 100%!! They should have had him strapped into his car seat with a Happy Meal.

1 pointI simply don't see how forcing a rape victim to go through 9 months of pregnancy, totally disrupt her life, and then be forced to give birth to her rapist's child can be considered anything but cruel, unusual, and a total and complete violation of her rights. Maybe someone can explain.

1 pointI agree with her more often than not. We need more like her.

1 pointSeen on FB: Every Muslim teacher in the US should start leading their classes in prayer. Watch how fast that shit would be illegal again.

1 point“Robert Bork’s America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, Blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens’ doors on midnight raids, schoolchildren could not be taught about evolution, writers and artists could be censored at the whim of the government, and the door of the federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens.”. Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass., 1987) Now we have 5 Borks on the SCOTUS.

1 pointThough hop and pops are a good way of getting the 'numbers' up. Doing actual full altitude skydives, getting coached in various disciplines, will also give you the freefall skills and all round body awareness/skills needed when you go towards terminal jumps, and/or onepiece tracking and/or wingsuit later on. If you're already skydiving, might as well actually learn something. Even when doing hop and pops, don't do it all 'with advice from the internet' but get some actual coaching on flying, landing etc. as there is a lot to learn, and just banging out 'numbers' is not the best way of actually doing so. Having access to people who can actually maximize the learning in the (intended) small amount of jumps you're planning to do before a BASE course, for sure find those with knowledge and experience to help you out. Going abroad, to somewhere with good weather. Be it one of the bigger USA dropzones, or places like Empuria Brava, Skydive Spain you'll def. get most jumps in, in a shorter amount of time.

1 pointGo to the DZ, buy tickets, jump. Don’t rush. Learn. Approach your local riggers, learn from them. Approach your local BASE jumpers. Learn from them. Go hiking. Go climbing. Acquire lots of varied skills. Don’t die. Have fun.

1 pointOver the edge - BASE Magazine I've tried putting together a new base magazine, with the intent of making it a more regular thing with news, tips and educational articles. Big thanks to all that helped with issue #1. Feedback and help with future issues is more than welcome :)

1 pointUntil it comes time to pay the bills and you realize minimum wage doesnt buy you much more than the back of your car to sleep in. Get a job that pays well and everything else in life will be easier. Get a job that doesent allow you to afford even the most basic of necessitates and even the funnest of jobs will feel like hell.

1 pointYou basically take on debt to pay to become a tunnel rat and then work off your debt. You could do the same by just paying $10k. The opportunity cost is high going the instructor route if you have the ability to earn more doing something else. If you’re getting into it to get to fly all the time, that’s the wrong motivation. If you’re getting into it because you like hospitality, customer experience and entertainment, then it might be a good move for you.

1 pointDear Airhugger, Working with first-timers does not have to be boring. It all depends upon your attitude. The best thing about working with newbies is that you get a new audience every day ... for your corny old jokes. Hah! Hah!
