1 pointRight. The Supreme Court took a big step towards affirming the rights of State governments (or the Feds) to ban you from doing almost anything at all in your personal, private life that the Constitution doesn’t explicitly say they can’t ban. That is authoritarianism. I have no idea why some people have this twisted view that States’ rights are an inherently good thing when what is usually being talked about is the ability of State governments to clamp down on your personal rights. Like the racists and morons who frame the civil war as a States’ rights issue as if that is somehow favourable to the south. States shouldn’t have the right to enslave people. Human rights trump States’ rights and in this day and age you’d pretty much need to be a neo-Nazi to think otherwise.

1 pointThat bit really got to me. First I simply felt terrible for those women and then, later on, I added seriously angry to the stew. We are in such an awful place in this country now. I for one don't really care to hear from Brent on this. No doubt he'll focus on the gofundme set-up to give them some help and peace and speculate that a nexus exists between Shaye, Lady Ruby and BLM.

1 pointThat's an interesting idea, but that crater would have eroded away loooong ago, especially in an area where it rains a lot. It depends on the terrain and how hard/compact the dirt is, but bounce craters generally aren't very deep. One notable exception, if any of you are ghoulish enough to appreciate the humor in this. One time back in the 80's, some guy went in at Perris, and impacted in a neighboring nursery. Between rains and their soil preparation, this area was muddy to the point that walking through it, you'd sink in about shin to almost knee deep. Well, this guy's crater was a bout a foot or so deep. After everything was taken away, a couple jumpers who lived across the street in a trailer park known as 'the ghetto' made a plaster of paris mold of it, and set it in their yard as a birdbath. The drop zone owner caught wind of this, and smashed it up with a sledge hammer. Killjoy!

1 pointWould it? For real? Surely even among the minority of the population who are regular, active Republican voters there is no mandate for this absolute madness? Am I giving them too much credit or do you think it would just be a reflexive ‘oppose anything the Democrats like’ move? Though I was giving them too much credit on the abortion. I cannot believe the ‘No exceptions’ laws that are being enacted. How can anyone who claims to be ‘pro-life’ support a law which demands that a non-viable pregnancy be left to kill the mother? These sanctimonious hypocrites are fucking disgusting.

1 pointAs usual Democrat policies fail to achieve their aim. Rhetoric = reduced supply = record profits

1 pointIncrease crude oil price, increase demand reduce refining capacity = $5+ gas = Republican control of congress this fall

1 pointThe only thing going down is the stock market, gas on the other hand has gone up every day for the last 12 days, and will likely pass a national average of $5.00 a gallon sometime tomorrow.
-
1 pointNot just gas, it is inflation (not seen in a generation) resurgent COVID, border crisis, crime wave, overdose epidemic, and baby formula shortage just to name a few. Not to worry my leftie friends, Joe will just rebrand Republicans as MEGA-MAGAs and say January 6 over and over and he will roll back the red tide.

1 point“Democrats think voters will be so gob-smacked by the revelations of the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack that they will forget about soaring gasoline and food prices, rising crime, a 15,000-person caravan of people about to cross our southern border, the baby formula shortage and power brownouts, which are likely to hit our country this summer. Yup, they’re convinced that Americans being force-fed (every major network will broadcast the House hearings live during prime time) scenes of yahoos waving flags and storming our Capitol will rebuild President Biden’s dismal approval ratings and put his fellow Democrats on the road to victory just in time for the midterms. Fat Chance.” https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/3516707-made-for-tv-jan-6-hearings-wont-rescue-democrats/ What do you really think is going to motivate voters this fall, January 6 or $6.00 gas?
-
1 pointAlthough I live in a college town and many of my friends are Democrats, they are not far left paranoid wackos.

1 pointJanuary 6 is not even in the top ten of things US citizens care about. Have fun with your nothingburger.

1 pointI don't think anyone should be forced to get a vaccine. MOST (not all) people on the left agree there. I do think that if you don't get vaccinated, or you don't want to wear a mask, there are things you won't be able to do. Go into a NICU or a hospital room, for example.

1 pointYou’re free to go. I believe that inciting people to leave is bad form.
