Right side was cut away, but not the left.

This was probably the biggest thing as a child that brought me to the conclusion that it was all bs. The fact that there were different groups of people with opposing viewpoints, all equally convinced that theirs was the "one true way". The only reasonable conclusion is that they are all wrong.

Ah yes. The "War on Christianity". I know lots of Christians. Far, far, faaaaar more than any other religion. Same as I know far more white people than any other. Those who honestly practice the teachings of Jesus, who don't use their faith as a weapon, who genuinely believe get my respect. Those who are hypocrites, who try to convert others, threaten 'hell & damnation' for those who are different, who try to get their faith installed as laws... Not so much.

Correct. Not only that but the Christian right is not monolithic. The really base of people calling for this are not doing primarily because the want more Christ in society. They are doing it because they are white nationalists. They fear losing the control that they believe is the source of all things good. They are a large part of the GoP, and they have outsize influence because they vote in primaries, but they are not as strong as they appear.

While simultaneously claiming victimhood. But to Bigun's point, as annoying as that is, they have as much of a right to exist as any other religion.

Hi Stumpy, Re: the biggest thing as a child that brought me to the conclusion that it was all bs. For me, it was about 1956. I was 16 & my brother was 15. For some unknown reason, our mother decided we should attend Bible Study. This was at a church that my family attended maybe twice a year. What triggered the idea of attendance at two random times of the year, I have no idea. Anyway, during these studies, the pastor was telling us about how if one accepts Jesus Christ they will go to Heaven. I got into a discussion with him about this. We went back & forth. He told me that a person can live any type of life that they might want; good, bad, evil, does not matter. If they accepted Jesus Christ on their deathbed, they would get into Heaven. At that time, I thought that was about the nuttiest thing I had ever heard. I've been a heathen ever since. Jerry Baumchen

Paying too much attention to this overstates the strength of this movement. It needs watching and we need to be aware for sure. It is more than a fringe group but less than a serious threat. For now.

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/china-nov-coal-output-strikes-new-high-ensure-winter-supply-2021-12-15/ “China's coal output hit a record high in November as Beijing urged miners to ramp up production to ensure sufficient energy supplies in the winter heating season. China, the world's biggest coal miner and consumer, produced 370.84 million tonnes of the dirty fossil fuel last month, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Wednesday.” Still using per capita emissions I see

So she had COVID-19 months ago and urged people to do the right thing, but now months later she has reversed her position. You realize what this means??? Apparently, a lingering effect of having COVID-19 is degenerative brain disease!!!

Hi folks, I've known Joe for over 30 yrs. I can say that I have never seen him in a cowboy hat or wearing cowboy boots. And, I don't think he has a gun rack in the back window of that F-150. Jerry Baumchen

The Onion put forth one of the better religions: https://www.theonion.com/scientology-losing-ground-to-new-fictionology-1819567847 The Invisible Pink Unicorn is entertaining. The Church of the Subgenius is classic. The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is hard to beat. "Put the FSM back in Chrifsmas."

I have nothing to contribute to this discussion from a technical standpoint. But I want to comment that it's absolutely amazing to see folks with decades of experience in this sort of thing freely contributing and sharing to help the 'new guy' get it right. This is basically 'doctorate level' harness design and construction stuff. Both theory and practical. Way, way, waaaaaaay beyond my skill/experience. But the fact that Jerry, Lee & Rob are willing to help at the level they are is REALLY cool.

I’m newly licensed and purchased the VOG while still in AFF so this is all I know as far as audibles are concerned. I really like it! I would have liked to have seen a couple of enhancements so I contacted the staff at Team VOG and they have been awesome to deal with! I wanted the ability to be able to test it on the ground and the stock English voice was just too shrill for me even with my hearing aids (high frequency hearing loss). They complied with both requests! Firmware update 5.3 added the ability to listen to each altitude while on the ground and also added a deeper toned voice, English Tanya!! You need an iOS phone to download and install the firmware update to your VOG, I borrowed my wife’s Apple phone. Also, you can only ground test the voice with an iOS phone for now… Helmet Fittment – I have a Bonehead Aero and it fits perfectly! I can even wear my behind the ear hearing aids which is awesome. I did have to cut out the last layer of foam behind the VOG as it was a little too snug with my hearing aid on. Tim

If they keep this up it will be a “One Billion Ton” quarter, and potentially nearly a 4-billion-ton year. That’s about 8 times Australias entire annual production and about six times the US’s.” Anyone who thinks we can mitigate global CO2 emissions with some traffic circles while China burns BILLIONS of tons of coal is engaged in magical thinking.

“In year 2020 the developing nations consumed 82% of all global coal use with China alone consuming 54% of the world’s coal. China was the only nation in the world that increased both energy use and emissions in pandemic year 2020. The U.S. and EU have not contributed to the increasing level of global emissions over the last 15 years. In fact, these nations reduced emissions during this time period by many billions of metric tons. Yet global emissions have continued to dramatically climb ever higher by many more billions of tons driven exclusively by the increased use and unstoppable growth of fossil fuel energy by the world’s developing nations.” I’ll say it again, all we have done is export our manufacturing, emissions, jobs and money to China and others. We shut down a cement plant or steel mill, lay off thousands of workers, pat ourselves on the back for “saving the planet” then just buy that cement and steel from China. (Which happens to be cheaper because of lax environmental protections and the use of slave labor)

Olof “When you need to increase energy production capacity for wind or solar, you just add an extra solar panel or an extra wind turbine and hook it up. Repeat as many times as necessary.” Also Olof “China's building coal plants at a rapid pace because as a developing country, their energy needs are increasing quickly” Also Olof ”If you want to increase energy production for a coal plant, you'll need to choose a site, get architects in and design and build an entire power plant facility. Gives you a big step increase in power capacity, but takes a lot longer.” Olof is confused, but that is unsurprising given the Lefties capacity for cognitive dissonance.
