Myself and my good friend Brent Findlay set a new national New Zealand record this past Saturday for the most number of jumps completed in a single day by a single person. Dubbed 'The Hundred Jump Project' our goal was to get at least 101 jumps in a single day each simultaneously to beat the current NZ record of 100 which has stood unbeaten since 1999. We managed to achieve an average of one jump each every 5.5 minutes for just under 12 hours non-stop (aside from fuelling obviously), eventually ending the day on 120 jumps each so we now co-own the new record. We jumped from 2,500ft (the lowest legal altitude under our governing rules) from a Fletcher aircraft. We had just the one plane but had 3 pilots who worked on a 10-jump rotation. We had an incredible ground crew of around 50 people including packers, pilots, safety, rig-swappers, catchers, food and hydration runners etc who all also worked on a roster rotation, our first jump was at sunrise 6:35am and our last jump was around 6:15pm. We are not night rated so we were restricted to daylight hours only. We used a total of 20 rigs with quite a large range of canopies. It was really fun to land a Crossfire 3 109, then 5 minutes later land a Saffire 3 150, then 5 minutes later land a 7 cell Krakken wingsuit canopy etc, it was a real test and we had 240 great landings. I know some of you will be referencing people like Jay Stokes and thinking that 120 isnt really a big deal, but it was a big deal for NZ and certainly a big deal for us personally. We used the challenge to raise funds for our local Mental Health Foundation, so far we have raised around $10,000NZD but we expect that number to climb as the NZ media continues to show a lot of interest. We both had one cutaway each which is pretty unlucky really. Both spinning linetwists which put us on our backs, pretty obvious you arent going to fix that from that altitude. Mine was at jump 55 and Brents was at jump 93. Both cutaways were textbook, kept both handles, landed exactly on target, swapped rigs and kept going. One of the coolest stats is that I got to do my 800th and 900th jump on the same day, which not many people can say. Anyway I just thought some of you might be interested in some of those stats. It was a super fun day and Im really proud of what we achieved. Heres a quick story from one of the news channels here in NZ, one of many to report on the event. https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/124237213/friends-push-through-parachute-fails-and-fatigue-to-set-new-skydive-record

I dare you to walk into a COVID Ward and see just how devastating this virus is on the human body - hell, go see someone who has facetime as they monitor their dying loved one in the hospital. Don't get me wrong; I do believe we need to re-open the economy, but after we get this virus under control. You know, our grandparents sacrificed so much more during WWII (everything was rationed) and we came together to face a foreign enemy. We need to come together for this enemy also. God forbid someone misses out on their Starbucks or sumpin. We as a nation have zero fucking patience to get through anything anymore.

The "number of rejumps" question is not really relevant for SL. You'll get there when you get there (freefall). You might need six jumps, you might need sixty jumps. Either is fine.

How many wouldn't have died if everyone had taken them seriously?

Looks like a great "water trainer" rig. In other words, NO longer air worthy... So we throw it and you together in the pool, for training... :) I'M NOT a rigger, but my common sense tells me things!

Yes it does. There was a possibility that the reserve may be usable as a pilot parachute. But seeing as it is more than 60 years old, not any more. It's hard for me to get my head around someone even in the eighties using a reserve that old! Actually, my guess about the 80s is off, the container was last packed in 79. It appears to have only been packed 3 times and probably has very little use. I think I know what the container is, but I'm not sure, so I'll leave that to someone who knows for sure.

This gear is from the 80s. It is not something that anyone other than possibly a collector would be interested in. However, there is far more of this stuff available than there are people who collect it. It does appear to be in very good condition, but it is completely and utterly obsolete. There are people on this forum who will probably recognize the container and be able to tell you them make. I would advise you not to open the reserve. I would look first in the yoke area at the top of the back pad for a pocket that will most likely contain a data card for the reserve canopy.

The "no jurisdiction excuse" is free license for a losing president to do absolutely anything in the lame duck session to hold on to power. Even worse, if the Senate is controlled by the same party as the outgoing president belongs to they can simply refuse to schedule the trial and allow an impeachment to "expire" without being addressed. This is of course what Moscow Mitch did. No doubt if the outgoing President was a Democrat they would have managed to get the trial done, just as they got Barrett confirmed to the supreme court after arguing a year was too rushed for Garland (among other excuses). The Republican Party has truly shown themselves to be the American Fascist Party, determined to hang on to power at the cost of American democracy. The next time we elect a Republican Senate and a Republican to the White House there will never need to be another legitimate election, as this batch of fascist hypocrites had laid out a road map to establishing a dictatorship.

Thank you to all those who have already contributed, there is some intersting data developing and I am looking forward to analysing and publishing the observations. The survey is still running so still time to add your input if you havent managed to yet

I'm going to go on a limb and guess that you are inferring that the link to the video is yet more evidence that a black person has succeeded ergo white privilege is a myth? I'm not sure that's what you meant... I am only inferring based on the fact you have pulled out this same bad argument many times already now... It's interesting that you attacked another poster on the basis that English is not his native language. English is not my native language but I think I am at least using good logic in my arguments. You, on the other hand, appear not to be fluent in logic, so let me educate you (guide you out of - but I can't force you to learn)... a - the video was a reference to the mental gymnastics it takes to make the kinds of arguments you are making in order to deny the existence of white privilege. It was a joke / attempt at humour. Apparently lost on you as well. Nevermind - I thought I was hilarious and as I am mostly trying to entertain myself on here, mission accomplished! ( <-- self-congratulation on making myself laugh) b - How are you making logical fallacies?? Let me count the ways... ( <-- nerdy reference to victorian poem) 1 - Ad Hominem / Tu Quoque (litterally - "against the man" / "you too"). These 2 logical fallacies are similar in that you attack the person as "proof" that the argument is bad. This is more than just becoming exasperated and calling someone names. This goes one step further and happens when someone makes the claim that "the other person is an idiot," therefore his/her argument must be stupid. This is an illogical leap. The "look who's talking" attack does not prove or disprove the person's statement. In assessing whether and argument follows good logic, it doesn't matter who is saying it only matters what is being said. Because even a moron can make a good point. An argument stands alone and it is either good or it is bad, period. In fairness to you, you are not the only person on here guilty of this crime against logic. 2 - Non Sequitor ("does not follow"). A, therefore B, therefore EARRING. No logical / correct link. Example of good logical sequence: All of Quebec is in Canada. All Canada is in North America. Therefore All of Quebec must also be in North America. Example of bad logical sequence: All of Quebec is in Canada. All Canada is in North America. Therefore Quebec must be full of cunts. The first two statements are not proof of or linked to the third, which may or may not be correct. Example of non sequitor statement: there are barriers to success, but it is still possible to succeed, therefore there is no white privilege. (there is no logical connexion between "possible" and "harder") 3 - Circulus in Probando (circular reasoning). The argument refers back to itself as evidence that the argument is correct = bad logic. Example: We know certain traits make you successful. How do we know? Successful people have these traits. Example: We know Muhammad wrote the Kuran. How do we know? It says so in the Kuran. (it doesn't really say that and was probably dictated by Muhammad & written by a scribe) Example (not made by you): America is the best place to live because it's better than any other country. (the argument loops back to itself as proof of itself - it's better because it's better) 4 - Red Herring Fallacy (throwing in irrelevant statements to distract - often to avoid uncomfortable truths). Example: Let's face it everyone struggles. (error in logic: this has nothing to do with how much different people struggle and whether patterns of struggle exist and whether there are mechanisms at play that favour one group versus another. Yes, everyone struggles. Irrelevant in the debate about white privilege.) Example: What about Asian privilege? (Again: irrelevant to the debate about white privilege. A distraction tactic - and a bad one at that.) I could go on... My point? Your arguments do not follow good logic.

'Cuz we're more concerned about our 'rights' than our responsibilities. "Cuz we're a bunch of spoiled, immature, selfish brats. 'Cu we're a bunch of gullible fools who put Trump into office. So that when he said 'it will go away', they believed him. When he said it was 'a hoax' they believed him. The worst part about it is that there is a significant segment of the population that DID take it seriously, that did take precautions, that were doing all the right things. Unfortunately, too many idiots decided that they didn't have to, didn't want to, or that it would make them look 'weak'. So we're where we are.

Despite the overwhelming evidence that the cost of lockdowns far outweighs the limited benefits, many policymakers lack the backbone or creativity to come up with any alternative. Saving millions of lives is considered a 'limited benefit'? It's not the policymakers that are the problem, it is the people. The CDC has made it clear what we need to do to stop the spread. If we had 100% compliance, there would be no lockdowns anywhere because this shit would be under control. But people like to just ignore the problem and hope it will go away and that's not how this works, so as expected the problem just gets worse. That's entirely and squarely our fault because we're the ones causing this problem in the first place. The dude who wont wear his mask. The bar who throws a massive NYE party. The family that has a 30-person get-together over the holidays. We are to blame for our mistakes, not the government. I had a solution, it's a effective and it is super simple. No restrictions, no mask requirements, but anytime the positivity rate increases above 7.5% in the state, the entire state goes into lockdown for a minimum of 21 days or until the rate drops below 5%. No one goes out, not for any reason unless absolutely necessary. Then put it on the people. Want to keep your job, business and home? Then you better wise up quickly. This will cause society to start putting pressure on others to do the right thing because otherwise everyone will be in deep shit. There are states doing similar things right now and they tend to constantly be in the top 5 for lowest infection rates nationwide.

Actually, the original lockdowns worked reasonably well. Infection rates were fairly low. They should have been left in place longer, but they were working. Look at how the numbers spiked in June and July, after stuff opened up. One thing that is being ignored is how the 'conservatives' decided that it was 'showing weakness' to follow basic safety protocols. The right decided not to wear masks, not to stay away from others, not to do anything the 'liberal scientists' told them to do. That's one reason that "Trump territory" saw some of the biggest spikes over the summer.
