I'm embarrassed to say this guy was a Marine (and have been embarrassed by him for some time). I'm pretty forgiving when people who have never served in government are elected to office, and then overstep or misunderstand (innocent mistakes) ethics and finance rules. But military officers have to engage in -- and often lead -- annual discussions and training sessions on this stuff. As a member of congress he committed gross violations of finance laws and ethics regulations (to the point that I wouldn't even have excused them for someone who might not "know better"). Double whammy. It's guys like him who make it so military members can be forced to take on even more training sessions, with documented attendance and participation -- taking away from doing our regular mission and from the annual skills training calendar. It's disgusting.

Well, completely the opposite of what I thought. Canopy was no issue whatsoever but man was I rusty as hell in freefall first lift. Second was a bit more relaxed.but still not great. Hey, at least they signed me off :)

We used to spray tandem lines with silicone and other things. Trying to reduce the wear and reduce friction knots. My experience was that it picked up dust and grit off the floor and actually accelerated the wear of the lines. A dry Teflon spray might do better but having been burned before.... Lee

a correctly setup wingsuit rig is consisting of parts that are all wingsuit adaptable. And that are fitting well together - for sure meaning inside manufacturers recommended ranges. You don't want a main that packs super hard which is the case here as your container is built for a zp107 or low bulk 120 main. And also are you sure you want to be under a overloaded PDR113 - with line twists? I know of one who had reserve rides because of poor or none main extraction at deployment due to to mains sitting tight in the rig. Best advice is to upsize the rig (and reserve). A small rig and small canopies is quite basically bad for wingsuiting

Hi Sky, I have travelled in Europe, Asia, South America , Australia & a lot of North America. Not once have I been concerned that I should have a gun for protection. IMO it is just a scare tactic to sell more guns to the misinformed. Jerry Baumchen

That is not the case in the rest of the world. But perhaps in the US it would be. In Canada we do suffer from some criminal gangs who have easy access to smuggled weapons. But in general the police here do not have to assume everyone they deal with is armed. But it doesn't really matter. Even if you carry your weapon around with you it is unlikely to be in your hand when you need it if one of those criminals shoots you.
