2 pointsWe're lucky that in the UK you don't have to follow the manual anyway. Unpicking and then retacking a slink on very packjob is going to do more harm than good, fight me.

2 pointsThe police in Atlanta are calling in sick to protest the murder charges against the cop. Two thoughts: 1. Fuck 'em 2. Fire 'em
-
1 pointIf it's the same as the rate of armed cops being shot, then it's worth it. If it's lower than the rate of armed cops being shot, then go for it as quickly as possible.

1 pointCount me in. We clearly need police. But we need the police to be less of a military operation.

1 pointHi Keith, I could not agree more. All agreements between all gov'ts & all police unions should not be renewed when they expire. Jerry Baumchen

1 pointToday, Atlanta is trying to bribe them with $500 bonuses paid for their efforts during the protests. I agree, fire the cops who refuse to work because they suppport criminal police behavior, and end relations with police unions who support those same criminal cops. We should return to community policing and drop the military policing approach.

1 pointIt can take a day. Get rid of police unions. *For anyone tracking. Yea, I have cop issues.

1 pointKnow any kids? Maybe you can inspire some future photographers.

1 point1/2 a step ahead of you. I just started building a small office shed in the back yard; "DB's Hideaway".

1 pointLike Morgan Freeman said - “STOP TALKING ABOUT IT” The more you bring it up as an "Us vs Them" issue - the further you make the divide.

1 pointIf he was some form of minority there would be some amount of 'ist' criticism of him. This would be pointed out. You would then jump on it and say that all his defenders call all his critics 'ist'. And you'd be just as wrong as you were just now. That exact thing played out with Obama, too. Remember when he once gave an interview where he said that some criticism aimed at him was because of race? What he said was simple and easily understood, but Fox and people here still jumped all over it saying 'hey look Obama's trying to squelch his opponents by saying that anyone who disagrees with him is racist!' It's bullshit.
-
1 pointThe usual progression: Cops kill someone for no (or poor) reasons. Right wingers start vilifying victim. "He was no choir boy!" "He was no angel." "The left wing claims he's a hero and he's NOT!" "So a violent thug is dead - so what? That's good news, not bad news." They get called on being callous. They get defensive and the usual "but Obama . . . ." starts.
-
1 pointActually, your implication that the pastor you agree with speaks for all black people is more racist than the Professor calling him a moron. See below. Because it validates his beliefs. And when does anything he posts follow what had just been said?

1 pointOld airplanes wear out or corrode out. I was badly injured when a 40 year old King Air suffered a fuel pump failure. A skipped inspection almost killed us all! After 3 -ish years, the factory's liability fades and then the reliability of any machine becomes increasingly dependent upon the thoroughness of the last mechanic. For example, if the owner does 1,000 jumps per year - in the Southern California desert - a parachute might be scrap after 3 years. OTOH Closet Queens might be in mint condition after 30 or 40 years. However, Closet Queens may need Special Inspections or Service Bulletins that were published long before the interweb became popular. That is why young riggers should not feel forced to repack any parachute older than themselves. As for the grey-bearded, grumpy old Master Riggers ... I refuse to repack plenty of gear that was fashionable when I started jumping: round reserves suspected of acid-mesh, first generation 5-cell square reserves, Sentinel AADs, pre-3-Ring canopy releases, etc.
