4 pointsYour reply is a perfect example of why I said things have not changed here. That is genius.

3 pointsThe irony of this thread's initial premise is that it acknowledges right off the bat that Trump's handling of this crisis has been absolute dogshit and may damage his re-election chances. This was a perfect opportunity for him to rise to the challenge and actually show the world he can do the job he was elected to do - and if he'd done that, he'd have secured another term with ease. Regarding the question posed in the OP - I'm not happy that he's fucked up the response, because I have friends and family all across the US who are at risk from his inactions and I'm not a psychopath.

2 pointsI think I’ve figured you out. You like Trump a lot. He represents your world view and the reason you don’t have a problem with his racist and misogynistic viewpoints is that they are aligned with your core beliefs. But you’re not stupid and you know that wider society still finds those views to be wrong. So you dress it up and find every excuse you can as to why the ‘other’ candidate is worse than Trump. You use that to rationalise your position. You don’t even have the moral conviction to own your beliefs and viewpoints, at least Ron does that.
-
1 pointWhat stands out amongst the Trump supporters is the gaping void of anything positive or rational. They will instantly attack if Trump is criticised in any way. However I don’t actually recall any of them providing SPECIFIC positive traits of Trump, or successful outcomes. It’s just ‘you’re a Trump hater...’ We have both been here long enough to remember SC during the first gulf war. The debate then was very different, some defended Bush and his actions, but there was not this attitude of ‘doesn’t matter if he’s never achieved anything, you just hate him’. To be honest I’m tired of it. I’ve deactivated Facebook and should probably step away from dz.com as really it is just a circular argument that goes nowhere. The odd entertainment when Q+ or Q++ (god himself) talks to Ron but that’s about it. I am sick to death of Trump and Corona virus. Let’s have a good old discussion about religion of guns that doesn’t include those two

1 pointWhen you were younger did you ever think you'd reach a point in your life where you would defend a pedophilic draft-dodging US president?

1 pointWow, what a sad loss. I was a Tandem I at Skydive AZ in the 90s Randy was a camera flyer and he gave me great instruction on achieving my AFF ticket and what to expect from the Certification course which I passed on my first try. Best wishes to his family.

1 pointI swear I really didn't vote for him and I am totally unbiased and treat Democrats and Republicans the same. You should see how kind I was to Obama and Clinton. I mean the incredible vitriol and hatred directed at Obama for trying to get people healthcare, compared to the absolutely forgiveness for Trump's handling of tens of thousands of dead is quite telling.
-
1 pointDefinitely true. But while I personally have a choice whether to skydive (no thank you at this point), I don't have a choice whether I provide customer service for my company, and I am sure many independent riggers are increasingly in a position where turning down work would be economically devastating. So it is good to know how to handle this stuff. For my part, I'm just not starting work on what comes in for a minimum of three days. The vast majority of my customers are fine with that, since skydiving in my area is not up and running yet, and flying season is pretty quiet too.

1 pointYou're just figuring that out, aren't you?

1 pointAgreed. I always try and see the good in people and for a long time I defended him. Considering the conversation style of the Trump supporters, it’s no wonder they don’t have a problem with Trumps word salads, they are all very similar.

1 pointI have two N3As and I dread the thought of one or both of them crapping out. It reads the altitude to me through an earbud. It's very convenient. "Ten........Nine.......Eight....." It's nice when working with students to not have to look at my altimeter. I can give more of my attention to the student while staying altitude aware. I really don't need the features of newer fancy altimeters. Just read me the altitude.
