Hey, this is serious. To any Qanon believers, I want to take a moment to emphasize that drinking bleach is very, very bad, and you should not do it under any circumstances. I know I've had my differences with Qanon folks over the years, but let me, as a liberal, be frank with you. Do not drink bleach. The scientific elites are in agreement here, it's a bad idea. Liberals - from Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama to Nancy Pelosi to AOC - all agree that it's a bad idea to drink bleach. I think you'll find most Hollywood celebrities also agree that drinking bleach is wrong. So don't do it, Q army. We, liberals, are telling you not to drink bleach. Please. Don't.

The Bonfire was called Talk Back I remember "In before the Lock!" I remember when I would refresh the bonfire page a few times an hour and was still never caught up. I remember bragging about weekend numbers..... humps, jumps, and BEER! Wouldn't it be nice to have it all back?

Indeed. It's called the Placebo Effect.

To understand religion one should study epidemiology. Some mental malware is more virulent than others, and some is downright weaponized. The whole idea that existence as we appear to know it is the result of some entity that is orders of magnitude more massive and complex than what we perceive, yet is completely undetectable, is patent nonsense. That which is submitted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. I find Islam is a prime example of religion as a form of psychosis. The Cult of the Illiterate Pervert Psychopath could hardly be a more transparent mechanism for the exercise of power. Christianity, the Cult of the Magic Jewish Zombie, is not much (if any) better - it is an example of Truth by Committee at its finest. A dispassionate review of its history reveals it to be as bad as it gets without imploding. Mormon and Scientology are definitive, verifiable bullshit, yet they have an amazing number of adherents. The fact that it is all tripe is irrelevant. That religion meets any general criteria for mental illness is hardly a theory. It is a demonstrable fact. BSBD, Winsor

I think you are looking at it from only one singular point of view. The way I understand what he was trying to put forth, is that, to him, belief in a deity is human nature. I think it is truly inconceivable to him that a human wouldn't possess that instinct. It makes no logical sense to him. (Just my take) So, in his view, you are denying your nature, as opposed to your humanity, per se. I'm not saying any of the three of us can't get contemptuous, at times, but I don't think he was being a bigot. I can understand this because I was brought up to think along those lines. I had to teach myself how to let myself understand and accept alternatives.

So it's an amount of reality similar to Homeopathy. Interesting.

The fact that my insatiable thirst for efficiency to NOT have to type anymore than necessary is a rub to a few, is reason ENUFF to continue....

I jumped at WWSPC. I landed in the peas on my second jump, Jeff steered me down over the radio. The crash was just a few weeks later.

It's been a while, but my old DZ had two Wings student rigs (purchased new in 03 maybe). S/L, freefall, even had a setup for a reserve side release so it could be used for AFF. The freefall could be setup as a throw-out or a spring loaded PC ripcord. The ripcords were the black stuff. The S/L were direct bag, with the pin on the S/L being the black stuff too. Not sure if they could be set up as Pilot Chute S/L rigs or not. If they could, we never did.

I have seen both the yellow and the transparent version used for staticlines, but not the black ones.

In the Parachute Rigger Handbook is the following image. I'm not 100% sure but I think I saw the yellow 3-ring cables as pins for the static line. Is this something that's okay or something that should be strongly avoided? (I'm not a rigger, just trying to learn) Thanks!

I pretty much ignored my family and got all new friends. Worked well for me.

Doesn't seem like 31 years, but there it is. Have a cold beer in memory of those who won't return to the bonfire. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

Hi Jeffsnephew, I was going through my AIT Army training at Ft. Gordon in 1984. I had a little over 500 jumps at the time. We were not allowed to have a car during this training so I would catch a ride to West Wind from a local jumper, Mike Delang was his name. I jumped there for a few months until I finished my AIT training. I went to the DZ for what I thought would be the last time. I was going to my next phase of training, Jump School at Ft. Benning, on Monday. I wouldn't have a car at jump school so this would be my last weekend at West Wind. I was saying my good byes to everyone for the last time , promising that I would be back to visit some day. When I went to Jeff to say good bye, he asked me if I might get any weekends off during jump school. I told him I had no idea. He said " well if you get a day off, come visit us" and he handed me the keys to the dropzone van. I was speechless. He said "use it as long as you need it". I will never forget the looks on the Black hats faces (jump school instructors) when I came rolling into Ft. Benning in a van with WEST WIND SKYDIVING CENTER plastered on the side of it. I was called out by the instructors the first day of training and dogged pretty hard for the entire training. It was a wonderful time in my life and your uncle was a big part of it. I got to go back to the DZ a few more times during my stay at Ft Benning. I can't remember exactly how I returned the van to Jeff before going to my permanent party station at FT. Bragg. I visited Jeff and Teresa on my way back from the Mardi Gras Boogie, I think it was 1985, It was the last time I got to see them. If you are still in contact with Teresa, please tell her I said hello. Thanks, Cliff .
