1 pointNo cheap wine (like normal) I’m at the in-laws, Ardbeg Uigeadial is called for tonight. (Mixing it with Diet Coke, on ice in a solo cup)

1 pointNope. That's simply corruption. If a juror in a civil or criminal trial openly admitted that they were coordinating their efforts with either side, the juror would be removed immediately. There is a strong possibility that the trial would be suspended and a mistrial declared. If, during the 'voir dire' process of any trial, a potential juror declared that they knew how they would vote during deliberations, they would be removed. I think it's kind of a shame that the House doesn't impeach McConnell for his misdeeds. THAT would be funny.

1 pointYes, I know I was quoting him and directing the comment at him. I dislike the new quote system here and sometimes make this error.

1 pointBut the GOP Senators' coordination with the White House, and pre-emptive statements that their minds are made up before having a trial are NOT playing politics? Really?

1 pointYou are now exaggerating. Using the phrase "100 times the actual size" even though it is false. You did it for dramatic effect.

1 pointI think what you are going thru is something most if not all of us go thru. I can still remember my first week of college, I hated it. I didn't know anyone, none of my friends went to college right after graduating so I found myself "alone" even with all the support my family was giving me. I ended up ditching after my first semester, budget travelled for 5 months across Europe. That gave me some life experience and thought me about being comfortable alone and in a unfamiliar (sometimes dangerous) setting. I ended up going back to school, having SOME life experience and most importantly being comfortable being uncomfortable. The best advice I can give you is to focus on you and stop having this picture in your head of where you should be in life, comparing to others. Some will get there way before us and some will get there way after us. The main part is that you are enjoying the process. Just like skydiving, some get skills right off the bat, some work hard(er), some give up, some persevere until they reach their goals, its all about the journey. Sometimes I look back and think "how the f**k did I make it this far with my life ?!" I remember it like yesterday and it was 14 years ago.

1 pointDidn't you get the memo? Haste makes waste. There are plenty examples of businesses scaling too quickly for their own good. From a societal perspective it would be referred to as progress traps. A big one people seem to be talking about lately is this concept called AGW, maybe you've heard of it? Edit- There was a documentary awhile back called "Surviving Progress," check it out.

1 pointMy opinion doesn't matter. You asked the question "why would someone want to slow down progress" and I gave you the answer. BTW do you consider the belittling and marginalization of large segments of the population "progress"?

1 pointI was going to buy one until a couple of months ago when I ran out of pond doing a ghost rider. I launched forward very violently and impacted on my left shoulder and head while still going in the 40mph range. It hurt, luckily it didn't injury me. If I had been wearing a mudflap alti with the current versions available today, then it could have very easily hurt me very badly. My thoughts were of broken carbon fiber puncturing a lung. It was bad enough that after 8 years I bought a full face helmet. Not a cheap skydiving piece of crap, but a full face Pro-Tec that has real protection. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

1 pointI know people who swear by mudflap alti's. Two considerations: how are your landings? if you face plant it could hurt pretty bad. how do you lay your rig when you pack? I like to tie the rings together w/ the rig ontop of the shoulder straps. If you have an alti on your rig you might have to pack it slightly differently

1 pointHave been in sport about year and a half and have 80 jumps or so. I was thinking about getting one of those Altimeter mounts for your shoulder strap(mudflap). Ive seen the Alti-mount and I think bonehead makes one. It seems like it would be great for freeflying and tracking jumps...... Somebody told me to reconsider because in head down bumping chests with someone would hurt. Is this a valid point? Are there any other reasons why these can potentially be dangerous, another snagpoint, etc.etc......... ANY THOUGHTS??
