And has been interpreted to mean different things. But in any case, the clever little film is still bullshit. The second amendment was written to provide the loosest interpretation and broadest coverage, this is shown time and time again in the writings of those involved in its inception who wanted to use it to help assure the American colonies that no group of states or citizens would be at the mercy of a federal government to protect themselves from either that government or from smaller security risks. However, there is no law that rises above public health or cannot be annotated to protect citizens from misuse. Just as speech is protected but not when it's used to incite illegal acts, weaponry can be restricted if that type poses an undue risk to citizens. The rest of the discussion is about where we draw that line.

It isn't Rob, but a jury was convinced anyway. Juries sometimes do outrageous things. This may be one of those times.

The words "literal" and "virtual" are used so often these days that I have forgotten the original meanings. To my ears, they are more like swear words: something to be filtered out while I try to filter out what message the speaker is trying to convey. At minimum, the accused should get probation for slander or libel or hate speech. That sort of language is not used in polite company. What would happen if he said that to an ICE agent's face and the ICE agent punched him?

Oh, hey Ron! Here's that IG report you were talking about. The one that was going to be dynamic, far-reaching and life changing! It's... well, it's long, and I'm still skimming it, but I'm gonna say not really all that life changing. Let's see... It looks like they concluded the investigation of Russian meddling itself was authorized (page 345). It looks like they identified a bunch of procedural and administrative screw ups at FBI in connection with the FISA warrants for the Russia investigation, though, and they make a few recommendations for new training and policies. Part of the conclusion says: "Finally, we also found no documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivations influenced the FBI's decision to use CHSs or UCEs to interact with Trump campaign officials in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation." I'm still reading it, but I couldn't find any evidence presented of a deep state pedo Satanist cabal (whether including the Illuminati, lizard people, or just "regular"). In fact... I'd say that there's not much to back Q up at all in it. Maybe you can explain using your decoder ring how to find the secret message. Oh, I bet I know what it is - I bet it's that if you select a bunch of capital letters from the report, you can make them spell "HILLARY WILL BE EXECUTED", so long as you re-arrange the letters and ignore all the letters that don't say that. Bet you wished you got the goalposts with the wheels on them, right?

Have you seen and heard how "Literally" is used in the speech and language patterns of today?

not really. as i said earlier, all of my information was recalled from over the years. when i began jumping in '98, we were using fxc's in student gear and the cypres was relatively new. there were issues that they had fixed and some that had not been addressed yet. it had been mentioned that there was a 10 errors from one unit and i mentioned that was not the case. weather the issue had been corrected or not does not negate the fact that it has happened. yes my information is old and yes they have corrected the issues. no there is not a 0 incidence of misfires (firing when not supposed to or not firing when it was). i much prefer to err on the side of safety, so even though firing when not supposed to is dangerous, not firing when supposed to is worse. i have NOT heard of that happening, ever. sorry about the other account, i had a second when when i got locked out of the first (this one) years ago and was using it for email. and to gowlerk, i was not posting anything i was unsure about as it happened. yes they are all three great, yes they are all dependable, but no, they are not foolproof and are subject to fail at any time with no warning whatsoever, just like anything manufactured or electronic (even though they are pressure operated, there are electronics inside, hence the batteries). if one were to read that particular post and choose to think an aad is not safe, well, in a sense, they aren't. they are well suited as a backup device but ultimately, the canopy pilot is responsible for getting a pilot-able canopy out in time to fly it safely to the ground, including deploying the reserve. personally, i am not going to use one, but not because they are unsafe or of any issues i have heard about regarding them.

Got it. There's been data that they've gotten worse where they always happened but everything I've read on IPCC lists them in the ambiguous category with a theory that they'll increase in some places. I believe the same was said for hurricanes, for both we haven't been tracking them for very long and their natural variability is outside of the scale of our observations.

Madigan... I'm over 50... and one of the things that makes me most nervous is listening to someone tell me how they have it all figured out. Do you know what you can teach someone who's got it all figured out...? Not a damn thing. Where as someone who is teachable, never has to stop learning. If I thought there was a trick to all this, I'd say the trick was to learn to love learning. I had to put booze down about the time I was 24. It was a problem for me. At 24, I wasn't a grownup and I wasn't a man. Not by any definition of those terms that I was able to articulate. I'm past that now and that particular story is perhaps long and boring to anyone not in a similar situation. The point of THAT... is I believe I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I believe that today. I also believe that I'm gonna be fine. As long as I remember a few things. What those things are might vary a little from person to person. What they are for you, I don't wanna speculate, since we don't know each other. But I don't think you can't go too far wrong if you start with these 3 things; 1-try to remain teachable. If you have an interest in skydiving, I'd say that's a good start. Not because skydiving is great... tho I think it's pretty great myself and I'm pretty new to it. But because I THINK there's a LOT to learn about it. 2- find the willingness to ask questions. There is nothing wrong with the answer "I don't know", and it's not a bad way to find out what you don't know. 3- happiness is an inside job. If I can't find a way to be happy on my own, no person and no thing is gonna do the job either. Last thing I'd like to say. I'm not sure about other families, but in my family I'd guess that what they find irreplaceable about me isn't any THING I'm outstanding at... except for maybe being me. No one else could do it nearly as well. Blue skies sir. Hope to meet you up there sometime.

Statistical data is sometimes used much like a drunk uses a lamp post. More for support than illumination.

I'm old now. I'd fall off. Pain hurts. The closest hospital is 30 minutes away. So, yeah, no stripper pole. But the cable spool table is spot on. Going on the project list now!

Well, it's hard to see that they are in favour of the King considering the King is an American "ally". Religion, culture, and politics are all intertwined in this. It's hard to separate them from each other. Bin Laden, (actually a Yemeni) was primarily motivated against the House of Saud. As were most of the hijackers. It now appears that the shooter had friends who likely knew what he was going to do and recorded it. It will be very interesting to see how their prosecutions proceed. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2019/12/07/official-florida-base-shooter-watched-massshooting-videos-before-attack?fbclid=IwAR1-Bwd4vxzAUYSHcbAy8J7ewNWvctbdjNk8kLNZIajIrY0UFlhx1fHAc3g

I would consider the statement of support for Bin Laden, who was mostly motivated by American meddling and the statement about funding and committing crimes against Muslims to be condemnations of American policy. Not religious in nature.

FWIW this is part of an NYT story about possible motives The SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadist activity, cited a Twitter account with a name matching the gunman that had posted a “will” calling the United States a “nation of evil” and criticizing its support for Israel. SITE said the account had also quoted Osama bin Laden, the former Qaeda leader, and was critical of United States foreign policy. “I’m not against you for just being American,” the posts said. “I don’t hate you because your freedoms, I hate you because every day you supporting, funding and committing crimes not only against Muslims but also humanity.” The account could not be independently verified, and law enforcement officials did not confirm that it was connected to the gunman.

Love it. Years of both Harley & skydiving shit would go in mine. The "Last Load Lounge" would HAVE to have the requisite cable spool table for ambience. My only question is - Where ya gonna put the stripper pole?

A large number of Saudis hate the west in general and America in particular. It isn't really a religious thing. It's the way the west has meddled in their affairs and supports the dictators who control them over the last century or so. I would imagine that if the tables were turned and America was governed by a King who stayed in power with support from the middle east there would be no shortage of American terrorists in the underground.

It doesn't set a legal precedent. The article is skimpy on details, but it does say that a jury acquitted him. That sounds to me like a good lawyer convinced the jury to refuse to convict. Sometimes juries do that, even though it is not really right. I'd like to know what the judges instructions to them were.
