That's like saying you get your insurance through the ACA, not Obamacare.

https://www.legion.org/dispatch/246188/help-get-legion-act-passed I know a lot of veteran's organizations are having trouble keeping the membership numbers up. Here locally our post is about to close down do to lack of participation. The 4 or 5 of us are burned out trying to keep it going. We are barely able to pay the bills which means we have no or little $$$ left over to perform our mission of helping vets and the local community. Just 2 days ago we got a message from the district Commander asking if we would be interested in merging with another local post which just may save us from closing. I like the idea of including all vets into the ranks. I think for a lot of the younger guys getting out now it's just not their thing of they have newer groups that are specific to their service. Whatever the issue is it is sad to see. The veteran service organizations can be a big help to veteran's and their families and do a lot of charity work for homeless vets.

American Independence is not limited to celebrating the military. In fact, that should be an incidental acknowledgement in this whole remembrance. Where was the celebration of self rule? Rule of law? The statesmanship that permeated the hall in Philadelphia where the colonial representatives got together and discussed/debated/hatched the idea, which evolved to a formal Declaration, of secession? It wasn't just about killing people and burning stuff. In fact, that happened later -- well after the signing of said Declaration on July 4, which is the basis for our celebrations on this date. The military is celebrated enough on multiple other days of the year. It should not be a political backdrop to a Presidential ego. Incidentally, if said POTUS really wanted to honor and celebrate the military, why did he make so many of them WORK on what would have been a 4-day weekend?

I know! I mean, that guy Qanon is nuts, with his wacky always-failed predictions and nutso conspiracy theories! You have to wonder what kind of person would follow him over a deep thinker like Q.

All that has changed for me since Trump was elected is the contempt I feel for those who continue to defend him.

Funny video! But in the future maybe stick to smaller formations until everyone can control their fallrates and approach speeds, and can refrain from mixing sitflying and belly until they have that control.

There is no seniority that trumps safety. As with most things in life, there is a correct and established way to do things and being around a long time does not make you exempt from the rules. Wingsuiters get out last. That's how it is done at any reputable DZ. Is it physically possible for a wingsuiter to get out first safely? Sure. It's physically possible to safely execute any combination of exit order that exists. We could put AFF students out first and head-down carving freefliers out last. It could be done safely if enough time was put between groups. But since most DZs dont want five passes per load, we need to follow the correct, established, 'de facto' exit order which puts wingsuiters out last. Unless the wingsutiers have their own pass with at least four minutes between their exit and the exit of the next group, putting them out first is not smart. A wingsuiter in a very large suit can get nearly four minutes of freefall if s/he tried.

HER DIARY: Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk.. He agreed, but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset.. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. To my surprise, he responded to my caress, and we made love. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster. HIS DIARY: Harley wouldn't start today, I just can't figure it out, but at least I got laid..

But they are great at producing "thoughts and prayers".

    >modern 9-cells are probably the best performing chutes with the best openings. Well, there you go; everything is a tradeoff. Most AR-11's opened like crap. Most 7 cells open better than most 9 cells. Most 9 cells have better glide than most 7 cells. Given that the few 11-cell canopies didn't open well, and given that 5 cells died away (due primarily to their glide performance) the 7 to 9 cell region seems to be a sweet spot. If your goals are accuracy, resistance to turbulence, low bulk or opening performance, a 7 cell is probably a good goal. If your goal is swoop distance or glide performance, a 9 cell is probably a better choice.
