1 pointI would waste any money on "buying my salvation". Religion is insanity.

1 pointWell, if they did it truthfully, then it would be fine. They won't, of course. They only want people with 'advanced education' to fill 'good jobs'. You know, people from "nice countries", like Norway. If they did it allowing people to come in and fill needed jobs, then they'd be allowing all sorts of people from 'shithole countries' to come in and fill jobs at the bottom of the ladder. Picking fruits and vegetables, working slaughterhouses, construction, hotel/resort/restaurant service, packing tandems, that sort of work. Those jobs are the ones going unfilled. Allowing immigrants to come in and fill those jobs (ya know? We have a lot of people trying to come in and get low level jobs) would be a great boost to the economy. Allowing them to be here legally, on the books, being paid a legal wage, subject to workers protections, all of that would be a really good idea. But they're 'brown people'. So it won't come to pass.

1 pointThis is simply a dog whistle to the base. It's about ending the family reunification policy that was implemented in the current immigration law by conservatives. At the time they thought it would bring in more white people because America was mainly white. They miscalculated the demand from Europe to get into the USA. Instead of Norwegians people from "shit-hole countries" brought in more and more relatives. Trump and his white nationalism adviser Miller know they can not get this racist garbage through congress but they also know it will cement their popularity with the deplorables.

1 pointYes I agree, we are now the largest oil and gas producer in the world. USA! USA! USA!

1 pointCan you definitively prove that he wasn't sick and dying already when he got there? Was he refused medical service or treatment? This is just me . . . but it sounds like his parents may be the main culprits here. Its quite a ways from Guatemala to El Paso. It seems like you are insinuating that because he was in US custody - he died. Is that the case? Is that what you are putting forth? Or is this more sensationalism with no back up? The left seems to be good at that.

1 pointYep, I’m just waiting for Tesla’s sales to skyrocket once subsidies end next year. With regard to fossil fuel plants.....new ones are being built faster than older ones are being decommissioned. https://www.carbonbrief.org/mapped-worlds-coal-power-plants

1 pointWhy are you such a denier? https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2019/03/26/energy-consumption-increased-at-a-record-rate-in-2018 the reality is that we have never used more fossil fuel. Renewables are just not keeping pace with a growing global economy.

1 pointDid you even watch the TED talk? Pay attention to the last two minutes. It is possible to believe in AGW and be against large scale wind and solar. Have you ever heard of nuclear power?

1 pointI'm sad to report that Tom McFeeters, D1257 passed away on May 4th at age 81. Tom was a early Colorado jumper and pilot who trained a lot of us back in the 1960s. Blue Skies old friend, I will miss you. Allen

1 pointIf their opinions are important enough to go to the trouble:- Invite these people to spend a day at the DZ. Let them chat to other 'family and friends', as well as other jumpers. Perhaps walk them through the various areas - training, packing, manifest. From the ground, talk them through a jump - show the aircraft running in, the exits, the openings, the pattern, the landings.
