What part of falling straight down at 120 mph (ish), relying only on some nylon and your ability to execute emergency procedures to save your ass - at approximately 6 seconds to impact if you don't do something or that nylon fails - seems safe to you? I'm guessing you have yet to witness a fatality or have a friend die skydiving. You probably haven't seen or known someone get badly injured while skydiving. Skydiving is not safe. You can do everything right and still die. You can not remove every risk factor to make it a safe activity. It's not a safe activity.

For those who haven't seen it here's the full training video. If you'll note in the intro, the overhead flyby shows the aircraft and type arranged close to what they were at the time of the fire.

One of my favorite renewables that is starting to get a lot more attention is tidal power. Not the stupid wave generators that people are putting on shorelines but instead under water turbines. Tidal energy is extremely predictable with a swing of only 2-5% difference of total energy through out a given day, it works 24 hours a day and does not cause any of the other issues of taking up land space that a lot of solar projects seem to do. Out of all options that are renewable and non-nuclear it is the best option for a base load replacement option. Nuclear is still the single best base replacement but the process to build a new plant is too long and too expensive. The newest versions are moving from mounting turbines on the sea floor to having them floating near the surface attached to barges and ships. They can be placed well outside of normal shipping lanes, have the option to add additional solar options to the barge to power local items and with HVDC lines running from a farm of them to shore can generate extremely large amounts of electricity out of sight since they are over the horizon for most people. Right now a single barge is producing 2MW but plans are underway to build 6 MW ships as a test bed. This puts a ship as generating the same power if not more than a wind turbine with a much more predictable output 24 hours a day. https://marineenergy.biz/2018/08/21/floating-tidal-turbine-clocks-record-3gwh-in-a-single-year/

I've heard reports that she isn't soliciting donations from big donors. Her social media presence is generating enough donations from 'small timers' that she doesn't need to. As a result, she doesn't have to spend hours & hours on the phone, soliciting donations. So she is actually attending hearings & committee meetings. You know, doing her job. https://www.brennancenter.org/blog/netflix-democracy

If that statement was correct, we would be having people falling out of harnesses every other weekend... I have no problem working on "closet queens" from the 90's, as long as people understand the limitation on the rigs build back then.

Holy shit I can't believe you posted that. "The Navy released John McCain’s military record after a Freedom of Information Act request from the Associated Press. The record is packed with information on McCain’s medals and commendations but little else." OK, sounds good. Maybe it's been edited. Maybe it's because he actually only did that. WMR has learned additional details regarding the deadly fire aboard the Navy aircraft carrier, the USS Forrestal, on July 19, 1967 in the Gulf of Tonkin. The additional details point to then-Lt. Commander John McCain playing more of a role in triggering the fire and explosions than previously reported. That's quite a claim. I'm sure they'll back it up with sources for this aspersion...oh. no. Guess not. Do you REALLY buy into this, Billy? If this guy had the evidence do you really think he wouldn't be publishing it far and wide? As it's published it's a fucking bar story that he's turning into fact. Talk about 'fake news'.

Yeah, I did. Which is why I know that when you say it’s a rural and urban issue and the suburbs are ‘Im alright Jack’ you’re contradicting your source, who said; “"One of the points I think that’s important to make, this is not just a Richmond issue. It’s not just urban; it’s rural, it’s suburban, it’s not just Democrat or Republican. It’s a statewide issue." So, y’know, there’s that. Also, there’s no demonstration of causality between voting system and school funding, or explanation of how cuts following the recession would have been alleviated if cotes for state offices were weighted away from the suburbs. You’re simply asserting that they would be, the same way you’re asserting that the EC makes things better. You haven’t provided any support for that assertion. Finally, if people shouldn’t be a metric of voting power, what should be and how do you figure it out?

Did you read it? Freedom of Information request for records. Records all glowing. Oh but we found mystical additional information. But, we aren't going to tell you what that is. But, that mystical additional information points to this...... What a load of crap.
