I went home today. Hop and pop from 6k with my awesome hubby. Almost got blown off the plane because I forgot about the prop blast. Perfect exit, perfect deployment, almost perfect landing. If only the winds hadn't gotten all weird, I'd have done at least one from full altitude. But that's okay. There's always next weekend. Life is good again.

Please see this guys post in the main forum, we shouldn't be encouraging him to show up anywhere. There is a golf bag in his future , but in the mean time it really wouldn't be fair to the drop zone that we guided him to.

If their opinions are important enough to go to the trouble:- Invite these people to spend a day at the DZ. Let them chat to other 'family and friends', as well as other jumpers. Perhaps walk them through the various areas - training, packing, manifest. From the ground, talk them through a jump - show the aircraft running in, the exits, the openings, the pattern, the landings.

In the last 10 years I’ve seen or been on the jump at big way events where at least 6 AAD activations have occurred because of low openings. In that time I know of at least 2 AFF students losing height awareness resulting in AAD activation whilst I was on the DZ. it does happen more often than reported.

Hello community! I did my first tandem skydive at Pacific Skydiving in Hawaii and fell in love! Came back to the main land and did 2 more tandems at Skydive Spaceland Dallas and decided that it was time! I have since then completed an additional tandem as well as solo STP / AFF 1 to 6 and absolutely love it - I also started purchasing individual components for my gear and own my own jumpsuit, gloves, goggles, G4 Cookie (pre-order) and Stella analog altimeter. My latest AFF/STP level 6 Jump from Tuesday consisted of solo exit, solo stabilization and practice pull, leg turns, docking and deployment: I am also a private pilot and can not wait to become a jumper pilot once I have my instrument and commercial rating! I love this sport and everybody who shares the same passion!

I watched an AAD fire on a student AFF jump and I also witnessed one from the air while I was under canopy, watched a guy go by in free fall and he pitched his main the same instant the AAD fired. He claimed that he was not low and the AAD malfunctioned. Take it from me he was that low!

I'm leaving this afternoon for the USPA BOD meeting, then I will be at the Symposium until next Friday morning. Why? It is because that is what I have been doing for so many years. The BOD meeting is "challenging" to say the least, but the Symposium is pure fun. I get to see people that I have not seen in 2 years. It is like a family reunion.
