    Skydiving to SCUBA

I was diving at Lake Pleasant here in AZ back in June and everything was going fine until I heard a very loud explosion from my dive buddy’s gear at 85 feet . There were bubbles everywhere like we were inside a champagne bottle and that second stage hose was flailing hard. The noise was intense as the compressed air rushed out. I held out my yellow safe second stage and he grabbed it like a snake strike. His eyes were huge behind the mask and panic was setting in fast. As he put my safe second in his mouth I noticed he spit out his own regulator and it sank to the bottom just below us. I was further stunned when he took off for the surface and had me at hose stretch pulling me at full speed by my yellow hose. As we came through 60 feet our computers were screaming like sirens to slow down and I was doing everything I possibly could to slow us down. We ascended from 85 to the surface on our second dive with 6 minutes left NDL after going to 125 feet over the rail out to the sunken speed boat. We were fortunate to not get nitrogen bubbling out of solution , air embolism , or just sick. I looked at him rather angry and asked WTF was that all about?? Turns out he had installed a swivel connector to reduce hose pull jaw fatigue on his Apeks regulator and FORGOT to tighten it with a wrench. I have found a new dive buddy:) For me it’s hop n pops on Saturday and Lake Pleasant Sunday for some scuba fun. Careful out there lol.

Oh, come on...you came after me regarding a portion of our website for an entire day, and right into the night. This isn't about whether I can personally see this or that at your forum. LOL...I already KNOW where the Cooper Con and Vortex sites live. This is about playing fair with your own members. Have you ever ASKED EU or Darren if they would rather the public actually be able to SEE the links to the things they worked to create? Forget about me. I don't try to advertise any podcasts or events at the DBCF for the public to see, download, or possibly attend. So why would I care? You aren't being fair to THEM. You should at least make it possible for the public to see the links to upcoming Cooper events where they try to recruit people to show up...or download the podcasts. I listened to you about the FBI report, listened to your requests on that, and made some changes. Then I toss one positive suggestion at you and you go ballistic. As far as the Cooper Campouts, AB of Seattle has a firm policy. We do NOT publish pictures of the attendees, nor do we generally reveal their identities. Why? Because we know the nature of Cooperland, which has been discussed among some of the campers more than once. The one time we decided to go public was with the Oregon campout in June. I decided to make available the location of the meetup spot, the time and camping location, and we were prepared to do pictures and videos that included these same people for the whole weekend, starting with the meetup. I think we even put up some maps for people to the meetup spot in Estacada (Oregon). We invited the public to show up unannounced if they wished, after dropping some short advice on coming prepared, etc. And...we started seeing threats via your hero Bruce Smith's website within a day. Threats to show to the meetup location and cause trouble. Amazingly, Smith still leaves those things visible at his website. If you can believe that. In the end, Tom E., Greg, and I arranged to change the meetup location with everyone (who had already signed up) and any thoughts of making those events public in the future were permanently forgotten. I tell people this: You want to know what goes on? You want to meet the nice folks who attend these things? The free BBQ even? Then sign up via the AB website contact box link and come along. We don't do it for advertising. We do it because it's fun. As far as organizing any 'big Cooper party,' as a sort of replacement to the Ariel Party for next year...it is doubtful anyone in Cooperland will be interested. I'm not holding my breath. I will keep my word and make my full proposal by January 5. Cooperland can kick it around until February 15. If I don't see STRONG and IMMEDIATE support by mid-Feb for a cooperatively-planned party where people set aside their differences for the common good, that offer of financial and organizational support will be withdrawn. After the fiasco that happened earlier this year, I no longer have patience for games. Parrot says in part: Only registered members who are signed in to the site can see those things. Try logging out and see what the public sees. It's no big deal to me personally. It's just poor policy if you are trying to get word out on this or that to the public.
  5. I have done both, carried it on and checked it. I put the rig in a 22" roller suitcase, but not everyone's rig would fit in such a bag. Don't try to carry on your hook knife. TSA took mine.
  6. Just wondering if most people carry on their rig on check it down below. This would be for travel within the U.S.A. Also, do you "disguise" your rig in a bag or rig sleeve? Do you keep your hook knife in the pocket if carry-on? Thanks

Not saying this is a scam but these prices seem way too low to be real. That Solo II used sells for around $140.... If real, then these are great deals

This is a great beginner/rental/big boy rig! I am 5 feet 9 inches (175 centimeters), and 250 lbs (175kg), with a 38 inch waist, and there is plenty of room to go up or down. Everything included currently has 345 jumps, and almost everything was manufactured in 2016, with the exception of the reserve which was manufactured in October of 2015. This rig has been great to me, and I am only selling for something smaller and there has been one previous owner. No damage or holes to anything, other than a slight repaired abrasion to one of the leg pads (the webbing beneath is fine). I am happy to furnish any other information via private message. Buyer pays shipping Container: Wings 31 (RSL and Reserve Boost, Cordura BOC with PVC handle) Main: PD Navigator 260 (Dacron lines) Reserve: PD Reserve 253 (10 repacks, 1 ride) AAD: Vigil 2+

    Loop the loop under canopy

Not sure if skydiving wings can maintain the energy of the wing well enough - they're made pretty inefficient so they can open well - but other wings can do a pretty good job... Try this at the end of a swoop and you are sure to break yourself...

    Loop the loop under canopy

Just checking, did anybody do the loop under skydiving canopy since 2008? Here's simple gif of how it should look like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerobatic_maneuver#/media/File:Loop1.gif It could be great finish following strong swoop.

lol people are scared to ask about the forum, okay...you keep saying it doesn't bother you and yet here we are talking about my forum and breaking the rules because you can't keep your nose out of peoples business. This thread will NEVER function with you on the board gossiping like an old lady with nothing better to do... I also find it interesting all the "support" you get when you go camping and yet no pictures are shown. they email almost immediately after you announce it and yet we have crickets with the party. where is your public? should be a simple task with your following? we have been waiting years for that big show that blows all the other events away. better get going....

Robert, it's none of your business....I would be worried about all the false information flying around you have, that's what's damaging. you even sell bad information. I don't think you are in the position to tell people what is right or wrong... You don't like it, tough...been telling you that for years.

Cute little Javelin J1, small girl harness size A-14 DOM 97. Really nice shape with all pack records since new. It has bridle protection so it is FF friendly. BOC is in good shape and has brand new custom built spacer foam leg pads for 18-20" thigh. Main D-bag is good and has an updated ZP collapsible PC. Best fit somewhere around 5'4"+/- and around the 110-120 range. Includes brand new 18" long UPT risers. The main compartment has a 170 ZP stuffed in it now, and can go down to a 120 maybe? Reserve is a Flight Concepts 'cricket' 145 DOM 2008. No rides. Reserve, free bag and PC are all in good condition. AAD is a Mars M2 DOM 2016. No fires. Main is a 90 something Sabre 170 with an oversized slider, recent line set and a small patch on the top skin. It opens good if packed right, and flies and lands just fine. The rig is current till May 2020, packed and ready to jump today. I'd like $2500 for the whole thing, or $2200 if I keep the main. I am not parting it out. Buyer pays for shipping. I am not a dealer so I have no freaken idea what it will cost to ship to Europe, but in the US, I'd guess shipping will be around $50-60 or so.

    Help please

Relocation of throwout to leg pouch as in the early 90s has worked for some of our physically challenged jumpers. This works safely for some disciplines but not all. Also moving the throwout to a left hand rather than right hand throw. Both of these would require retraining as to not brainlock at pull time.
