Everything about it
None

When I started skydiving all I heard was people complaining about reserves, from openings to landings. Well their mistake in not buying a PDR.
My experience is that it has a fast but soft opening, and great landing characteristics. It felt almost exactly like a 9-Cell-Zero-P landing.
I will definitely never think twice about which reserve to buy.

Good openings and landings
None

I have 4 reserve rides on my PD126R and would be reluctant to have anything else packed in my kit. most people I know who jump cheap reserves have never had a reserve ride. I weigh 200lbs without kit and the landings have been fine (in nil winds). The openings are great - very positive and on heading, i have been jumping cameras on 3 of these 4 reserve rides and haven't hurt my neck at all. I have heard very good things about the french techno reserves also, but haven't jumped one so can't comment.

Performs well at high wing loading.
A little more expensive

I firmly stand behind PD reserves. I was a little pissed about the price when I bought my reserve, but was talked into spending the extra money. I cannot express exactly how awsome this canopy is. I weigh about 205 dry and 225+ with gear and I jump a 126R. My first cutaway was a spinning diving malfunction, and I'm pretty sure I pulled my reserve in a bad position. No problem at all. I would gladly fly this canopy as a main. I even managed to swoop about 120' on landing. If you're going to do stupid shit like have a 1.8:1 wingload on your reserve go ahead and spend the extra $150 and buy a PD. If you jump high performance elipticals you WILL have a cutaway at some point and its nice to look forward to a reserve ride instead of dreading it. Blue Skies

Excellent canopy
Absolutely none

Just wanted to write and say what a great reserve Performance Designs make. I was doing a CRW jump this weekend and got into an intaglement with my partner at 5,000 and there was nothing left to do but cut away. Smooth and extremely fast opening, I was wearing an extra 20lbs of weight and the reserve flew smooth and dosile. The landing was even better cause I didnt have a very good out but I managed to land right next to the two mains which had fallen into a small open field, it had and awsome flare so I just tip toed it. That was jump 77 for me, wont forget it and if you are looking at buying a reserve do not settle for anything less. It may cost a little extra but when you are in that kind of situation money is of no importance. Overall great reserve, actually liked it better than the Lighting 176 that I was flying, go figure!

I usually write lengthy reviews, but I'll make this one short. The bottom line is this reserve is the toughest, most well-built reserve out there. Don't fool around with your last chance...spend the extra money and get a PD reserve.

After two ride under a PD-235-R, I feel that the PD reserve is as solid as they come. Each depolyment has been fast and on heading. As for the flight qualitied of the PD reserve. There excellent. Supererior glide, and absolutely fantastic landing flair.

The construction of the PD Reserve is basically "bullet proof". Very solid in it' manufacture. But, I wouldn't expect anything else less from Performance Design's. Packing the PD Reserve is a pleasure. It has a small pack volume for it's size. The fabric is easy to handle thus making stuffing the canopy into the freebag a breeze.

Deployments are no suprize eather. Soft, fast and on heading. But, thats what is expected from Preformance Design's. I found flying the PD Reserve to be a pleasure. It is rock solid in the air. It handles extremely well wether in full flight or deep brakes.

Landing the PD Reserve is rock solid aswell. Performance Design's has built in a very strong landing flair into it's reserve fleet. If you find your self having to land in a tight area, don't worry. The PD Reserve will let you "sink it in" with plenty of flair to keep you on your feet. I have found that the PD Reserve can handle a higher wing loading and still remain stable and easy to land. The stall is very deep into the toggle stroke. On my particullar canopy, I found that it was difficult to reach the stall point. It's my opinion, that if your looking for a reserve. Then look no further than the Performance Design's reserve line.
