Tetris Competition Suit Discontinued

On the outside this suit looks very similar to the Standard Michigan Suit but underneath is where the difference is. Our Competition suit has been wind-tunnel tested for thousands of hours by the Golden Knights who put their suits through between 50 to 100 hours of wind tunnel time per training season. These are the kind of competitors that put their suit on in the morning and don't take it off til sunset. Making 10-15 jumps a day, 800-1000 jumps a season.

Design
Construction

I just got done patching my suit where fabric pull out of a seam. I hope that it's just one small area that they 'missed' when it was made. Also, they really should invest in a bartack machine, I also had to put 4 bartacks in the legs where the seams were starting to pull apart. I've only put about a hundred jumps, and maybe 2-3 hours in the tunnel, on the suit and in addition to those repairs, the 304 stitch on the distal ends of the sleeves (spandex) broke the first month I had it. The suit flys well but I just hope that I can get a couple seasons out of it.

Very well-made
Booties need narrowed a bit for shorter jumpers

I wanted other lightweights to know how much my Michigan Suit has helped with my floating and overall control. I still have to wear lead but not as much. And I get positive response when I move. On fun 4-ways I like to fly outside center and set things up for the group. I can turn on a dime now and adjust altitude easier and feel totally in control.

That's all I wanted to say.

Quick order,excellent fall rate.awesome stability
none

Called mike about 3 weeks before I was going to florida and when I arrived I drove to flagler beach and picked it up.It's very well built and as im a big jumper 270lbs I needed a suit that would slow me down.He added lots of material and a nice set of wings with swoop cord.On my first jump with a coach at lake whales i was falling rock stable,I was able to dock on my couch with lots of time left. This suit has made so much difference in the way i can fly. Thanks Mike I'll be calling for another suit soon just because I love the awesome colors and the quality of your product!! P.S You were right Mike the wat the booties catch air I track flat and fast as a mofo lol

A tough, durable, good looking Suit!
none

I have been jumping a Michigan Comp suit since late 1998. I have owned 3 personnal suits and 6 "work" suits.

I have used suits from other makers as it was part of my "work" but always went back to the Michigan Suit.

Another maker sent me a suit to use for free when I was in the market for another personnal suit, but after it started to have workmanship issues I chose to buy another Michigan suit.

In my opinion; I would rather spend my money on a Michigan Suit than get a free suit I was not comfortable with.

20 Sept 05
I just got another Comp suit with the padde booties. I chose the blunt edge instead of the knife edge (Mike said it would complement my flying style better), I could not agree more!

The suit is powerful and fast turning!
I now have to think STOP well before I used too!

It is very tough and fits very well.
I will spend my money out of my pocket on Michigan Suits even if I can get free ones while on teams.

great fit and design
none

After asking around the dropzone and reading about different rw suit makers, I order a comp suit from Mike Michigan. It took a little longer than promised, but that was because of all the hurricanes. The suit is very well made and flys like a dream.

Structuraly sound; Reasonably unparalleled
None

"If you have fallrate problems call Mike Michigan he is the best in the business," said Nancy Larivier at Parachute Laboratories, Inc. Today that problem is over for me. You see me and Mike and Nancy grew up jumping in Michigan 24 yrs. ago and I called the Jump Shack because I required top shelf gear to integrate back into the skydiving community. That is the solution. We are a exclusive family that is principled for safety and the pursuit of the dizzying heights of honorable achievement.
"Who are you?," you ask! I'm a man with his machine right for reality. The Michigan Comp Jumpsuit, Racer 2K3 Angel/Firebolt is a philosophical, irreducible, primary to my structural soundness. "If I've seen far, it's because I have stood on the shoulders of giants," said Issac Newton of Galileo and Fancis Bacon said, "Nature to be commanded, must be obeyed."
"Who do you think you are?" you say. I'm someone who found his malfuctioning mind who deosn't experience gear fear at all!

Looks good, good material, good price, perfect fit
fair customer service

Took two months, not two weeks to get, as I had been told. Mike ran out of one of the colors I had ordered but never told me until I called to find out what the holdup was. I am well satisfied with the suit, but must take off points for the service.

Nice material
Poor fit and very poor customer service

I sent my suit back to Michigan twice for alterations. Finally, because I had to be in Deland to see Mirage made an appointment to drive the 2.5 hours to Flagler Beach to personally visit Mike. He wasn't home and never returned my calls. I bought a Tony Suit and have been much happier.

knife-edge booties, durability, construction, production time,
none

Quick and dirty: I've owned a Michigan Comp Suit since 1998 or 1999.

I now have in my possession 4 michigan comp suits and 1 regular RW suit (the pink one for JFTC). :)

I use these suits in the tunnel ALOT when I do RW and the knife-edge booties rock. They are very powerful and very crisp. They suit is outstanding for knee-flying as well. After trying to fly another suit in the tunnel (team sponsorship issues), it was obviously more sluggish than flying with the knife-edged booties of the Michigan suit. This particular type of bootie also helps when using your feet to fly.

The booties also have a rubber sole instead of leather. These booties fit snug, too. They are tight around your shoe, so if you jump with a different shoe than you're measured for, it could affect the tightness of the fit.

The grippers are large, but not so large that you lose a grip. Good positive grippers with good placement.

Michigan's turnaround time is outstanding and he knows how to make a good suit.

check him out at www.michigansuits.com

I'm have no vested interest in this, I get no free suits, nothing. i just love his suits. I love them enough so that on my 8-way team last year, they all ordered new "brand x" suits and I ordered another Michigan suit. Ask anyone from Purple Haze about me and jumpsuit issues. :)

If you order one, just tell him I sent you his direction. I just want him to see how much word of mouth and gear reviews on dropzone.com count. :)

blues,
arlo...a satistfied customer :)
