Introducing the beginning of a new generation of full face helmets… The REvolve!

The REvolve is unlike any other full face helmet on the market and it’s not just for RW anymore! With an evolved version of the Havok’s unique flip-up feature, this helmet’s entire face flips open leaving you with high peripheral vision when the helmet is both open and closed. The improved shape of the helmet provides superior performance by keeping unwanted wind flow outside of the helmet while still allowing the full head movement. The superb locking mechanism enables the face shield to easily rotate over the top of the helmet with the push of a button, but only when YOU want it to. So you don’t have to worry about it opening, even during the worst funnel; making it a perfect choice for RW, freefliers, and tunnel rats.

What makes the REvolve so unique and unlike other helmets is the removable visor feature; this allows you to have an open face and full face helmet in one. Simply remove the visor and you have a sleek open face helmet! No tools required!

The REvolve features a mounting surface for the Countour HD on left side and comes standard with dual internal audible pockets, Bonehead’s ingenious Thermal-Fit liner, chin-strap closure and also comes with the lens coated with anti-fog direct from the factory. In addition, we designed this helmet to accommodate glasses, large heads and odd shaped noggins! Available in three shell sizes for the perfect fit.

Sizes:

Light weight, comfortable, versatile, and adjustable fit.
Not enough info on the instructions.

I purchased my Revolve through ChutingStar, they had it to me in 2 days. I used the measurement chart and ordered a XL. However, it was much too small.

I returned it for an XXL, which was still too tight, and I had problems with the lens fogging up. Presumably because the fit was too tight and not enough air was moving in the helmet.

I contacted BoneHead regarding the tight fit. They immediately emailed me back, and told me there were shims in the liners that I could remove. After removing one shim from each liner, the helmet fit fine.

I ordered the Contour mount and ran into a problem there, too. The camera would not go on the slide. I had to spend all night gently sanding the rails. I was very careful to sand it just right. After a lot of careful work, the camera fit on the rails perfectly.

I also found out that the Cookie Contour Rail Mount stopper fits the Revolve's Rail Mount.

Overall, I'm very happy with the helmet. I just wish that BoneHead would have given a little more info on adjusting the fit.

Blue Skies,

BG

Duel purpose helmet, warm, quiet
Peripheral vision & not very air tight

Pros: I liked that I could keep the visor up until the jump door opened. The face shield never interfered with my prescription glasses, and I never worried too much about scratching the lense while in the aircraft.

Cons: I did not care for the lack of peripheral vision & it was not very air tight on my face. I had to add some folded up paper towel in the chin cup padding to reduce the constant problem of air entering the helmet. I also added some closed cell foam self adhesive weatherstripping along the inside of the face shield to help control the drafty helmet.

This may just be imagination, but I felt that the face-shield/chincup inhibited by ability to look back at the formation when doing RW. I was having trouble looking over my shoulder at the formation whenever I was turning 360's. I always felt that the large chin brace on the visor would hit my shoulders & I could not look behind me as far as I should be able to. I ended up selling my REvolve & bought a Cookie G3.

I am much happier with the G3 peripheral vision & airtight fit. I made a few jumps with a Phantom X & I really like that helmet as well.
Good Luck, I hope this review helps.

Comfortable, Lightweight, Perfect Fit
None

I ordered directly from Boneheads website. The measurement recommendation tool was spot on with the size. It fitted me for a large helmet, which I was worried would be a little too big, but this thing fits like a glove. Outstanding construction inside and out. The carbon fiber lay is absolutely beautiful, the audible altimeter pockets are a huge plus, and the face shield mechanism works perfectly. If I flip the shield down too long before leaving the aircraft, the lens will start to fog up at the bottom, but the small vent allows any fogging to immediately dissipate. Like other reviewers have stated, it's a little tricky to find a spot to mount a GoPro, but I'll give that up for the superior construction any day. I highly recommend this helmet.

Durable as hell, and Quiet!
Chin strap slippery

I've been jumping a Revolve for over a year now. It took some time to find a full face helmet that fit over my glasses. Even a Mamba that was two sizes too big hit the frames. Starting with customer service, I shot Bonehead an email with some general questions expecting to get a reply in a few days, a young lady there replied in a few hours, ON A SUNDAY, from her phone, with no BS answers to all my questions. I measured my squash and pulled the trigger. A confirmation email told me delivery in 4-6 weeks. I thought " six weeks, perfect, just as our plane comes back for the season." They lied. The helmet showed up in THREE weeks, leaving me all dressed up and nothing to jump out of. Fit was/is perfect! It seemed a bit flimsy, but then I had been jumping a Mindwarp for 16 years. Quiet? first jump on it, as I came down the hill I thought I was watching video with the sound off! Last week it really paid for itself. We were doing 4 way, and during a bipole-bipole transition, I got kicked full on in the face. I believe I would have lost some teeth with the open face helmet, instead, I just adjusted the helmet, picked up my grips and continued. Negatives? It does fog up under canopy in certain conditions, but not always. The visor latch does take some getting used to, but you can't say its not secure. The chin strap material is slippery, and you lose the adjustment after a few jumps, but a few minutes and some super tack solves the problem.
Do I recommend one? ohhh yeahhhh.

DOES NOT FOG!
Full face button can sometimes stick a little bit

I bought the Revolve about 8 months ago and have put about 40 jumps on it and I absolutely love it. It give you the option of a full face or no face. I have only used it as a full face because there is no need to use it as an open face; the face shield does not fog which is a major problem I have run into with other full face helmets like the Factory Diver. Under canopy I slide up the full face by hitting the button on the top and sliding the entire face of the helmet up. the only downside is that the track that the face of the helmet slides on is down the center of the helemt which means GoPro mounts on the top of the helmet are a no go and you have to use the Contour camera. Other then that though, I will not use another helmet. I abolsutely love the thing.

shims in themal liner, dual helmet role
Visor needs a nose bulge for larger nosed individuals or include voucher for a rhinoplasty

Received the revolve larger type manly beast 6'3" measured my head as per Boneheads recommendations and the fit was spot on was slightly concerned that it was to small but took out the extra shim in the thermal liner and its perfect.

Quiet, Sleek, Sexy, Anti-fog lens
none

This helmet is fantastic. I like that I can flip the whole face up and just leave it like that when I'm in the plane. When I'm about to jump I just give it a quick pull down and I'm out the door. It's super quiet inside and it doesn't fog up! The goggles they have at my DZ can get pretty foggy sometimes, I also get my makeup on them too. The lens on this helmet never touches my face and never messes up my makeup. I can't feel my eyelashes brushing up against it like the DZ's goggles. It looks good too. You can take the face part off but I wouldn't recommend it, it's kind of a hassle.

comfort, no fog, ease of use, contour attachment
wish I could get a tinted lense

I've had my REvolve for 11 months. No fog, comfortable, easy to open with one hand but stays secure otherwise. I like having the protection of full face and the convenience of open on the plane and under canopy.

I use the Contor attachment which is awsome - keeps my camera secure and is positioned perfectly to get great shots!

No complaints, but if I had my way I would get a tinted lense (but they don't make them).

Comfortable fit and easy opperation
none

Put 8 jumps on my new REvolve today. I love it. It fits great and it's nice and quiet in free fall. I got it for doing tandems and it does just what I wanted it to do. I can easily flip the face peice up and out of the way to talk to my passenger both in the plane and under canopy and best of all (and the real reason I bought it), with the face piece down, it keeps the snot and slobber from my passengers nose and mouth from getting in my nose and mouth. That's a huge plus in my book. I doubt I'll ever do another tandem with out it.

Everything !

Ok, I'm a newbie, only 3 jumps and a half hour in the wind-tunnel; have never owned a helmet before this one, but I love this helmet, there isn't any point in even trying a different one.

lightweight, design, comfort, quiet, no fog
strange look if the visor is removed

Got my helmet and put it to the test, even had the first contact with it, fits like a glove, is realy quiet and best of al it will not fog :)

Did I mention you get two helmets in one, the removal system is easy and you can fly without a visor in 10 seconds I missed it in the manual but please remove the visor on the ground :)

people at the DZ wanted to see the helmet and are impressed I expect it to be a hit in places where people jump in the winter

If someone uses the revolve with the contour camera setup please review

Good protection, easy to open, great fit, noise reduction
Maybe audible holes

Great helmet. It fits my prescription glasses, and I can put the helmet on without getting my glasses out. The visor system works great, and I have it opened 'till a couple of seconds before getting out of the plane.

The audible holes are cut a little over the pin of the visor system, so the altimeter screen can be scratched, but it has an easy fix.
Mine fogs a little on very cold days, but I think maybe it was caused by my polar buff.
Very happy with it, I always liked the Havok but it was too bulky for me, the Revolve is the natural evolution of it.

All new design; Confort; Chin Protection; Easy to operate; Noise reduction...
none (for now)

My brand new REvolve full face helmet has just been tested under the most cold conditions I’ve ever jumped below 14k!

I would like to thank BH for providing me with one of the best skydiving helmets I’ve owned, since hat shop to factory diver, oxygen to Z1 and Mamba. God, it was cold! But REvolve just has some good new ideas that make it probably the best amongst the others.

Beginning with some extraordinary good padded inside cushions, that not only keep your ears warm and protected, but also provide excellent noise reduction during the way up. Oh!

Did I mentioned that we don’t have to take the helmet off?

Yes, that’s right, the full face helmet becomes totally clear face when the chin protection and visor comes all the way up! And that’s a major advantage when you need to agree on something inside the plane, especially with a RW team or even a student to brief. More advantages that might not be noticed unless you skydive often with a RW team trying to reach higher on points (going crazy sometimes) is the fact that the chin protection is one of the best and strongest I’ve tried. Yes, I’m the one that managed to destroy two flip up lens on the Z1 (nearly got myself blind on one with the broken slices of shredded glass/plastic!), on a hasty approach to tail’s boot(ies) in block 2 (I’m point, going around as close and fast as I can…) and also the Mamba’s visor got open twice on head to head bumps with OC.

Apart from all those improvements, REvolve looks tough and aggressive, the way I like a helmet to be, comfortable and easy to operate, has both sides pockets to hold your audible devices, a discrete chin strap with all the extras you need to personalize your head adjustments, an easy removable lock to release the visor which also locks automatically when lowering it (and that’s also a big advantage as you don’t have to worry much when getting ready to exit and just want to lower it on the last second…) and the most effective lens I’ve ever seen on skydiving helmets. Narrow, as in strong, easy to replace, only two attachment screws, huge field of view (that matters on RW, especially if you’re point and have to fly backwards all the time…) and did I mentioned comfort? Yes, I guess so.

No longer I have to go spitting or blowing my nose inside the helmet (yes, that’s disgusting, isn’t it?) after deploying the canopy. What about for landing and walking to the packing area? No longer having to carry the helmet on one hand, or just balancing it on the top of my head (risking letting him crash on the ground) or just for wasting time when on a back to back jump.

For all of that and for supporting our REvolving Atmosfera Portugal G4 Team THANK YOU VERY MUCH BONE HEAD!

Blue skies from the westernest country in Europe!

Great fit. Quiet. No Air leaks. And it looks Sick!
Not really any that I can think of.

I finally jumped my new Revolve today. Yes, the weather has been a bit challenging lately. Other then the great “fits like a glove” fit and the sick look, the Revolved performed very well. It didn’t rattle around on my head. It was nice and snug. Not ear punching tight. Just a real comfortable fit. There were no air leaks at all. The helmet was very quiet during freefall. It was cold today, – degrees on top, so I put the helmet on for the ride up. Kept my ears nice and toasty. As soon as the green was on, I slammed down the visor and it was game on. Once I performed my canopy check, I reached up with one hand, pressed on the lock and flipped the visor up. Piece of cake, simple as that. And I had on cold weather gloves too.

Great job Bonehead!

Lightweight, Comfortable, Locking Mechanism, Great Looking
NONE

I have been wanting this helmet ever since it was in production. Well I recieved it for my Birthday a couple of days ago as a surprise. The company worked hard for my Mom to get the color that I wanted (Silver) Which looks nice and sleek, also worked really hard in order to get it to me on time. Boneheads Customer Service was absolutely amazing.

I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about this helmet...Great Job Bonehead!!!

I have 15 jumps on my revolve now and have nothing but good things to say about it. I was wearing a mamba which was nice, but does not even compare to the revolve. Great job Bonehead!!

Very light. Full face flips down easily and securely. Full or Open face. Looks great!
none so far

Bonehead went the extra mile to get me into one of these helmets before my season was over. 12:45AM on a sunday night, they made it happen for me. I got the helmet on the following saturday. I love it. Fits nice and snug. The visor is easy to open and extremely easy to close. If by chance you were to exit the plane with the visor up, it would only take half a second to snap it down, and it automatically locks as you pull it down so no fumbling with anything. Fits perfectly over my glasses, and I can open and close the face easily w/o smooshing or moving my glasses around. I will note though, the sizing seems a bit off. My head measures 22 1/8 inches, and the Large Shell with Medium liner fits me extremely snug. It's perfect in my eyes, but someone else may think it's a bit tight. The sizing chart has me in a small, which is a different shell than the medium, and would definitely not have worked for me.

I have not had a chance to jump the helmet yet, so I can't comment on it's performance in the air, but the service I received from bonehead, and the fit, comfort, and ease of use put it on the top of my list. Bonehead has a customer for life.
