Great helmet
Customer Service

I ordered a new MXV from Cookie using their 'Build-it' link on the website. I went with Cookie based on others recommendations for their helmets as well as their customer service.

The build-it feature worked great, allowing me to select my camera (Sony CX-100), add a Hypeye, cutaway, etc. The cost was expensive, but overall worth it.

While I would still recommend the helmet, it was not without many frustrations with respect to customer service. I ended up getting the helmet months after ordering it and additional work was needed in order to get the correct size.

The challenge I had with Cookie, other than shipping the incorrect size (mistakes happen) is that they repeatedly misrepresented delivery times and that they had shipped items when they had not.

Would I buy the helmet again? Probably. Does the company need to make some changes to meet their growth? Definitely.

If you want the specific details about my experience, including the unedited email between myself and Cookie, PM me and I will be happy to send to you.

Once you get the helmet, you will like it.

light weight and comfortable, amazingly fast shipping from AUS.
none, make sure you know what you want the first time you order. shipping is expensive

this mxv is great. it fits like a motorcycle helmet. very soft interior and light.

i don't know anyone with a cookie but i wanted an easier setup than my current helmet. it required tools and time to get on and off. a real pain to look at in the middle of the day or fire wire to someone else.

i ordered a box first for my old helmet. it didn't fit. so, i sold the helmet and tried my luck with cookie. jeremy gave me a 10% discount on the helmet and free shirt (free advertisement for them)for my hassel.

i ended up getting the whole setup. i don't regret any of it. it is a little more expensive than the rest, but well worth it.

i was a using a kenko .45 lens before. never again. the liquid .3 is great. nothing sticks out of the box.

try to order it all at once. shipping is expensive. i had to pay for the box to ship on its own. then the helmet, lens, and cameye. then, today, i had to send the chin cup back for a more padded one.

it ships real fast though. i had the box in 3 days, the helmet in 5 (they had to put it together) and then the replacement chin cup in 3 days.

i will compare all other equipment to cookie compoosites. the best i've had.

i have 2 friends that are ordering because i was the guiness pig.

Super Light weight & comfortable
none in my opinion

I bought this setup 2 winters ago and have now used it for two seasons with no regrets! I sidemounted my PC105 and have a Rebel mounted on top. The helmet is quiet, comfortable and a great product in my opinion. The only "problem" I have encountered is with the Black Box having a tendency to flex when I pull the helmet on and the lid would occasionally "pop" out of alignment. This was easy to "fix" by my use gaffer tape...I merely put a strip over the bungee and the seam where the box closes. I feel this precaution also serves as a "backup" to the bungee closure anyhow, so no big deal. I've noticed on a friend's newer model Black Box that it's "lip" is bigger now; I assume this revision to the Black Box has fixed the minor "quirk" that I have with my "older" model. When asked if I like my "Cookie" products, I recommend them without hesitation!

Its light weight and a very professional looking setup
None

Well after using Cookie helmets for nearly 15 years now, I decided after getting a new PC1000 and 350D it was time to upgrade the old helmet. I ordered a new MXV, Black Box, Liquid Flat Lock for the stills camera and a new sight mount. This was all assembled at their factory. When I picked I was very impressed with the quality of their workmanship. The Video and Stills camera were perfectly sighted, all I had to do was sight in the ring sight and I was on my way. I would recommend getting your helmet gear from them to everyone, you wont be disappointed.

Light, superb fit & finish
none

Great service ! I have jumped one for a year and love it. I had a Rawa for a year before that. I ordered my second MXV on Monday and got it on Friday ! From Australia !! Jeremy takes care of his customers ! The best helmet on the market today ! Some things are worth what they cost to own. The MXV is one of them.

Comfort, Service, Design, Comfort
Expensive

I won an Mxv helmet and added Cookie's cutaway, a Black Box and a Liquid 3 lens. I am so amazed by how comfortable this helmet is. The liner has padding of different thicknesses in parts of the helmet, which really helps it stay in one place on my head without being uncomfortably tight. It's also really lightweight, even with the chin cup, cutaway and Black Box on the side. The cutaway handle is very accessible on the chin cup, and the chin cup releases using a three ring system on one side. The Black Box has a clamshell design that I like, but I have to take my pc9 out of the helmet to charge it. Before I got the helmet, I was a little concerned about buying a helmet without trying it on first (I live in the US and don't know anyone with a Cookie helmet). The customer service from the people at Cookie has been great. After I put a few jumps on my Mxv, I emailed Jeremy because even with the chin cup as tight as it goes, I felt like I might want a slightly snugger fit. I thought he might tell me to add foam in the back of the head or just say that's how the helmet fits. When I got home from the dz, there was an email waiting for me saying that he had just mailed me a new chin cup with more padding. I really can't say enough about how comfortable this helmet is. I did a solo with my regular freefly helmet and realized that even with a camera mounted on the side, my Cookie helmet was more comfortable.

Light, Strong,
Box is only black

I was originally going to buy an Optik, until I tried this helmet. The fit was much better for me. The chin cup is great, the straps hide inside the cup. NOTHING protudes out to the front or sides (like on so many others).
The box fit my PC105 very snuggly, with no wobble in the camera. Internal audible pocket holds my dytter stable and i can hear it clearly & the is little wind noise. So far this is the best Helemt I have found fpr my head.
