The Edge with PORON XRD by SkySystems USA is a great all helmet for the novice or highly experienced skydiver as the versatility of it’s design allows the Edge to be used as a standard open-face helmet with padded chin-strap. And later on, or for the expert skydiver, it can be expanded to become a top-mounted video helmet setup with addition of a chincup.

The Edge comes standard with the Poron XRD- extreme impact protection liner, which is the thickest and most comfortable helmet liner with the best impact protection available in skydiving! PORON XRD offers anti-microbial protection too, which means it eliminates 99% bacteria, mold and mildew which increases the longevity of the liner and decreases unwanted stains and odors.

It has a unique open face design that allows for a small camera top mounting, perfect for a GoPro, Contour or Drift camera. Also standard are dual audible pockets and a wide, comfortable leather, adjustable chin-strap.

This helmet is arguably the quietest and most comfortable open faced helmet on the market today.

The Edge is available in Flat and Gloss Carbon for immediate shipment. Custom colors are available for an additional charge.

The Edge sizes are x-small (under 21.4″), small (21.5-22″), medium (22.1-22.5″), large (22.51-23″), x-large (23.1-23.4″) and xx-large (23.4″ and above), custom fitted sizing is available

Comfort, quiet

I have done over 20 jumps with the helmet at this point, I used to only jump with my Cookie G3. However I wanted an open face and ended up with the edge.

I've been using this helmet for years now, and I am still speechless regarding this helmet! Its fitment, its longterm durability, its comfort, and sound deafening characteristics still make this helmet unbeatable.

Everyone whom has taken the time to try my helmet have also been taken away by it.

It's amazing, it's comfortable, it doesnt look dorky, its super quiet (I don't even remove it in flight, its that quiet). And for the price, I'd buy another one without hesitation

Edit: I now have done over 300 jumps with this helmet. The comfort is still there and the padding is still perfect. I now added a quick release chin strap and a go pro mount onto it.

Stop reading this review and buy/order this helmet already.

Light weight, very comfy

The sizing matched up almost perfectly to what the website recommends and the customer service was awesome, I was sort of in between sizes and they emailed me back instantly in which to get. I got the gloss carbon fiber, it's VERY light with super comfy padding and a nice leather chin strap. It's also extremely quiet. I originally got it to mount the contour camera horizontally on the top (as they recommend the EDGE is good for small-format cameras because of the flat top). It does fit, but most of the 'flat/horizontal' mounts I would use are too big for the small flat spot. Besides that, so far so good!
