I've only recently got my WIngs so I haven't put to many jumps on it yet, but so far the container is great! It looks awesone, fits great, and extremely confortable. It's a very well amde container, and the pin protection is great, the bridle goes over the oain pin, so there's litle chance of the pin moving at all. My only problem with the container is the cordura boc. If you're thinkking about ordering one with cordura, I strongly recommend getting spandex instead. The pouch is too short, and its damn difficult to get a zero-p pilot chute to stay in there. My packer and rigger both tryed many different techniques for packing the pilot chute so that it would stay inside, but no matter what you do the edge of the pilot chute is still sticking out of the pouch.

When I first tried to pack my main, I could not close the container, so I took it out and sat on the bag a while to make sure all the air was out. I tried again and with more muscle than I've ever used on a rig, I got it closed. It was very tight, so tight that it distorted the material on the container. It was sticking out about an inch above the reserve at the top corners. It looked like shit. The pilot chute was also very tight. The rig looked like it was pregnant.
I sent it back, with the canopy ,for them to check. I honestly thought they would immediately say something was wrong with the size.
Instead they contacted me and said that it was (quote)
"perfectly fine", and they were sending it back.
When I got it back, it looked WORSE than when I packed it.
They obviously have a blind eye towards cosmetic apperance.
I called them back and the lady agreed that it was tight,
but then she said my canopy would (magically) shrink over time. (??????) She also said the pilot chute would loosen up a little after 20-30 jumps, and that most people like
their container tight so that they can downsize. She didn't ask if I was going to do that. (I'm not)
Then she said, If we (GROAN) HAVE to build you a new rig,
I have to promise her that I will dilligently watch my closing loop because it was going to be too loose, and I may kill myself.
About then I decided to have nothing to do with that company again. They are desperate.
The poor workmanship involves the stripes on the lower reserve. The fabric is wrinkled, like it wasn't pulled tight when they sewed it. This has nothing to do with safety or anything, but I feel that if they allowed that, there may be other areas of shitty work that got passed over that I cannot recognize.
So, after all that, I did what I should have done in the first place- I ordered a Vector.
Anyone want to buy a Wings? 150 reserve and a 135 main or smaller should fit nicely. $1000 OBO

Just have to add that Sun Rise's customer service is outstanding. I received my rig a week earlier than expected and was kept informed of their progress the entire way. They bent over backwards to answer all of my questions and returned e-mails and phone calls promptly. The rig is extremely comfortable and looks great. The pin protection is outstanding. My rigger definitely liked the split free bag and was very impressed with the rig overall.

I am extremely pleased with this rig. My next rig will be a Wings.

I demoed a wings 2 years ago in Quincy and fell in love. I ordered mine the day I got back. I got the patch design and henry did a wonderful job on it, I get compliments on how awesome my rig is all the time. I am in the process of ordering another wings, It's like home to me, the container itself is so comfortable.

I got my Wings about three weeks ago and jumped it immediately that weekend. With the articulated hip rings it is extremely comfortable in the plane, in freefall and particularly under canopy, the wide leg straps are great! Nobody else at my dropzone jumps a Wings yet, but I have received nothing but compliments about mine and have let several people try it on and they all commented on the comfort of it. I'd definately recommend looking into a Wings Container if you're looking to buy a new container.

Just got my wings on friday 27th july and put 6 jumps on it on saturday and now im supposed to be doing work but instead am reading dropzone.com again and felt i had to give praise to henry and my wings container..i have jumped javelins about 25 times and mirage conatiners about 35 times as well as a few talons and a racer..BY far the wings is the most comfortable when its on my back AND under canopy i got the hip rings with stainless steel and backpad,Under canopy i felt NO pressure on my thighs or groin like i have on other containers i think i even looked down to make sure the leg straps were done up it was THAT comfy all in all i feel it is the best container on the market i was all set to buy a mirage untill a friend let me jump his wings, ALSO henry had it in my grubby paws within 4 weeks of faxing my order plus i had my main reserve and cypress shipped to him and he put it all together and at my door as i said within 4 weeks, (what a guy) nice to work with friendly and helpfull before you do anything TRY a wings READ about it and then SAVE between $300 to $500 over a mirage( i put the $400 i saved straight on my account at my dz) and now my 2 friends with mirages have jumped my wings and both honestly admit its more comfy and they admit they shouldnt have tried to talk me out of it( you know how it is, certain drop zones LOVE 1 container and all the rest suck well i wasnt falling for it i did my homework and i know that my wings ROCKS and if you try one e mail me and tell me what ya think [email protected] pics will be posted at www.tumblefuqs.com once again CHEERS henry (even if you are french canadian)

Received my Wings couple weeks ago and already made about ten jumps on it.
The custom made harness is way more comfortable than my old Talon which I bought used. Now I feel much safer doing freefly, because Wings is freefly proof : no bridle visible, excellent riser covers which start almost at 3 rings, so no risers are exposed to airflow. THE BEST RESERVE cover flap that I know of : it is simple, but very very very safe ! I still have not seen a safer one. It does not catch the air at all, low profile, does not have those flaps at the side (like on Javelin or Vector), so it is much easier to do a pincheck.
Freefly handle is another great feature, which i like more than hackey handle.
P/C pocket from 1000-cordura is much more durable than spandex.
Main cover flap is the new generation one that tucks into itself, like on Vector, Voodoo, and Mirage.
Chest strap is double layered which makes it very durable.
I would recommend ordering WIngs w/ articulated harness. Those rings increase the flexibility greately !
I ordered Wings sized for Diablo 150 main. For now I've put an Omega 160 it it, so that makes it very tight, but still looks much better than a Talon with a oversized main in it. Actually, my rigger told me that I would not have any problems in putting even a 120 in it.
The bottom line : a new generation durable and excellent looking container . Would recommend it for everyone !!!

I finally got my Wings container this last weekend, and I couldn't be more pleased. It fits me wonderfully, is very comfortable, and is perfect in every way.

I'll try to address things that Mr. Warner didn't talk about so that this is more complete. The Wings container has a lot of nice little features that make a big difference. First, the dive loops on the front risers are sewn so that they make a D shape which is always wide open and accessible. The velcroless toggles are similar to the ones on a Javelin and are quite secure. The freestyle handle on the throwout pilot chute is an absolute must for all skydivers, in my opinion. It attaches to the bridle cover with a little piece of velcro so that it stays put until you pull, no matter what, and it is really easy to grab because you can wrap your whole hand around it. The BOC pouch is offered in Cordura, which is better, because it won't wear as badly as Spandex, and I've never had a problem getting the pilot chute out because the piece of elastic at the mouth of the pouch is sufficiently flexible.

There are no secondary riser covers like on a Mirage or Vector III, but it doesn't matter, because the existing ones pack so tight that no riser will ever be exposed to air flow. The channels are very deep and close tightly. The main d-bag, like Mr. Warner said, can be left vertical or rotated upwards, but I found it's a lot easier to pack left vertical, and gives a beautiful, slow opening this way. My canopy fits very tightly into my container (I ordered it this way so I could downsize later), and I still have no problem getting it closed. Speaking of which, because of the closing loop location, you should have no problem downsizing a lot (it's a lot like a Javelin closing loop). One thing to get used to when packing though is that the container is thicker and narrower than most containers, so the bag will look almost like a cube.

The pin protection is awesome on the Wings. The reserve flap is the easiest to check of any I know of, but it's recessed a little so that it doesn't catch air like the Talon flap. The main pin cover is very stiff, and has never opened on me. Much like a Mirage pin cover, the pin slides out the side on deployment, so the pin cover is only opened when packing or doing a gear check. Bridle protection is similarly awesome, and absolutely no bridle is exposed. All of the flaps fit very snugly.

The leg straps fit lower than most, so that under canopy you are sitting in the harness with the leg straps under your upper thighs, not hanging painfully like on some harnesses. This also makes a hard opening less painful. The leg pads and back pad have a significant amount of softness if you get the deluxe backpad, increasing comfort greatly.

I've jumped Javelins, Mirages, Talons, and student stuff, and by far, my Wings is the best, and it is definitely the envy of most of my friends at the DZ. I can't wait to make some more skydives on it.

Finally a clone that is better than the original. The new Wings container from Sunrise Rigging is more rigger-friendly than the Javelin rig it is cloned from. To date seven companies are building Javelin-like rigs (3 American, 2 Canadian, 1 French and 1 South African), but only one rig is significantly better than the original. Wings' superiority is no surprise considering that Henry P. also co-designed the Javelin back in 1988.

The new Wings has several features than make it easier to pack, more difficult to mis-pack and almost skydiver-proof. Starting at the top, initially the reserve ripcord routing may seem ambiguous, but the manual says it is okay to route the ripcord over or under the release housing. that's rigger-proof. Wings has the first freebag to address the whole issue of zero-p reserve canopies. Wings revived a concept that was tried and flopped on the Flexon main d-bag. By splitting the the freebag top flap and routing the safety-stow through a total of 6 grommets, they make it easy to slide even a large canopy into the bag and the rigger does not have to break a sweat until later in the pack job.

When it comes to stowing lines, the Wings Velcro-safe freebag is even more "Spectra-friendly" than last week's industry leader; the Talon 2. It would take a profound idiot to snag a suspension line on the Wings' freebag. The Wings' novel quick-change reserve pilotchute cap will also speed replacement parts when the inevitable reserve ride occurrs. Henry P. is one of only two designers who really understand reserve pin protector flaps, consequently the Wings' floating reserve pin protector flap is the easiest to pack, yet still provides better-than-most protection.

Sunrise is the first manufacturer to bow to the inevitable when it comes to stuffing the main d-bag into the container. They leave it up to packer whether to, just stuff the main bag straight in or take the time to rotate it in. This should shave a second or two off every pack job.

The Wings has great riser, bridle and pin protection, making it almost free-flyer proof. The Wings' stepped and ringed hip joints are more logical from a structural point of view than most other hip joint designs, and with fewer straps per ring they will survive more walks to the plane. The Wings is one of the few clones that turned out better than the original because Henry P. re-thought his original design ten years later and made it ten years better. This week the Wings is the technological leader in its market sector.

I tried one of these on that a guy at the dz was jumping and it was awesome! I didn't get the opportunity to jump it yet but it was the most comfortable rig I have ever tried and has great pin and riser protection. I also like the freestyle handle--seems a little safer. I'm just looking forward to the day that I get the money together to get my Wings!

If you freefly or are interested in reducing the risk of having a premature...then convert to this rig. As a rigger I have now owned 2 of these rigs and firmly believe in its design and construction. If you have any doubts let your mind do the walking on www.skydivewings.com
