RIGGERS DON'T LIKE TO PACK RESERVE, NOT POPULAR IN 2018

I have owned two, bought them both new, 1985 & 2002. Love them both, very happy with every aspect of each one. I would never buy a different rig. Best rig in the sky. I may not be here today without them. safest rig ever made, period!

Comfort! As an older than average jumper, now 70, I've found the Racer to be much more comfortable than other brands! T
Reserve Packing! I'm an old Master rigger and always hated packing Racers. They've gotten better but closing the rig, ma

while I've slowed down in my jumping, I still look at Parachutist and always wonder why I don't see even a few Racers in RW formations, never in free flying and almost never in Advertising! I feel maybe the last is very important in their lack of use in the US along with us riggers badmouthing the packing miseries we have, real or not. It's the only rig I can wear in comfort and as an X-DZO, I bought and got rid of several of many of the modern rigs. They were either too stiff, too heavy, miserably uncomfortable or a combination of all! The Racer I have has never been any of these! Comfortable to wear on the ground, in the air and especially under canopy! SO why are they not as popular as others, even scorned at some DZ's! I've heard free flyers say, "They're not ff friendly"! I look at the Racer, then other rigs they're using and I don't ..., is a see it, my Racer's risers are covered as good and better than most, the BOC, well, is a BOC, althought I use a ROL that Nancy put on at my request. I've even been told it'll kill me..., yeah right, I've used a BOC since 1977 and I'm still alive. MAINTAIN your gear and practice your procedures and you'll find a Racer is a great rig. "Nuff said!"?

FASTEST reserve deployment! Comfortable and good fitting.
A minor mixup with the lines I wanted.

I started jumping in the early 1980’s. When I switched from the T-10/static line progression to AFF, the rigs I jumped were Racers.

Eventually I got my own gear, a Talon like my friends had. I jumped a few years, and then life intervened. I had to put my jumping, and flying on hold to pursue a dream.

Two decades later, I finally got to the point where the skies started calling my name again. My initial challenge was losing enough weight to jump. As I started losing weight, getting a rig came to mind.

I looked at the gear on the market. Oh how everything has changed! No more Velcro. The pilotchute has moved from the easily accessible leg-strap, to the bottom of the container.

When I looked at the current Talon models, it wasn’t anything like what I jumped in the day. The one rig that seemed familiar to me was the Racer.

I called Jumpshack, and started asking questions. Nancy did more than simply explain the product. She spent lots of time helping me learn where the sport had gone. What was new, and what was the same.

She patiently helped me with a lot of very technical questions that I had. The features I wanted in my gear began to take shape.

Well, the DZ I returned to the sky at used clunky, tent pack like, Student Vectors. I was stuck with these as rental gear, until my finances were in order to procure a new rig. They really were stiff and hard to move around in.

I finally got my order in, and some weeks later, my new Racer Classic arrived.

I jumped it the next day. It was quite a change from the stiff, box-like Vector! The fit was perfect, and I had much improved mobility around the aircraft. This is a very comfortable rig!

The rig is very well made. The magnetic riser covers work exactly as advertised. The rig is completely “Free Fly Friendly.”

The main bridle routing is designed to prevent the pin from snagging the bridle, and causing a pilot chute in tow malfunction.

The reserve pins are well protected from any external forces.

While there was a minor mix-up with the lines I ordered, I am very, very satisfied with my new rig.

The bottom line is that if I had the money, I would order another Racer tomorrow!

Light, comfortable, and the way it looks
absolutely none

The racer is the nicest rig out there. If you get it custom made(or even if you don't) it fits so nice on your back. It has a lot of experience making the rigs... like 20 years. their reserve deploying method is the fastest because of the pop-top. I recommend this rig to all who wants the nicest rig on the market!!!

Comfortable, light, looks great on me.
None

Yes, I had a racer made for ME. I got it back in Febuary and it rocks. I got velcro sides and tuck tab top, I great blend of old and new. Why did I get one? So you would ask me why.. I think this is one of the best rigs on the market and will be for a long time to come.

I hear the reserve openings are quick, But I wouldn't know, yet..

Right track
none

Well, I Have the newest Racer on the market. It is without velcro and has the new Tuck Pockets. I have to say I am very happy with the new changes. I have had 2 other racers and always felt they were the most comfortable rigs on the market (I have owned a Reflex, Vector 3 and Wings). The racer lacked updates and I put up with all THAT velcro. But, all is changed and I am pleased with the fit and function of the system. JumpShack is back on the right path. Consider a new one, you won't be disappointed

Comfortable, light, inexpensive
Some riggers don't care to pack the reserve

I currently jump 2 Racers and have owned 4 since I started jumping. These rigs are incredibly comfortable and light. Most of the negative comments about these rigs come from people who have never inspected or jumped one. Good customer service as well. Can't go wrong with a racer.

Customized, quality workmanship
None yet

I got a Racer for my first rig and have a Triathlon 190 and a PD 193 in it. I've got a pull-out with the tuck pocket riser covers. One ride on the reserve, which worked as intended and opened VERY quickly...

Overall, I was very impressed with the ease of customizing my order (digging up leftover tie-dye scraps to use on it, totally custom-made to my measurements, bungee cord loops on the legstraps, hook knife pouch, dive loops, etc.) and the quality of the craftsmanship that went into the rig. They actually held up delivery for a couple of weeks because they didn't like the way the riser covers turned out and wanted to fine-tune them. I don't think you'd get that kind of attention from some of the bigger manufacturers.

It fits great, it works great, customer service was excellent, and I have no complaints.

I have been jumping for 19 years, in that time I have owned several rigs, but ever since I jumped the Racer, my choice in container has been easy.
Comfortable harness, safe and eficient reserve deployment.
The Racer looks cool too!
The craftmanship, choices in size, colors and materials are second to none.
My wife and I both own racers and love them...
If you haven't jumped one I suggest you give it a try...
Many new riggers complain about the difficulty in packing the Racer; A little skill and a little patience will make the rig look and perform well!

Safe and Blue skies

The Racer NOS is the best harness/container on the market. This harness fits you like a velvet glove, it's the most comfortable system I've tried and I think it has also a cool look... I'm actually jumping with the BirdMan wingsuit and my Racer is perfect for this kind of jumps. In fact, the main container has no corner, so you can alwais have safe deployments. With this harness you have also more movements freedom, and I think this is very important in wingsuit jumps.

Also, the Pop-Top system gives you a consistent freebag deployment, and this is the best thing do you want when you have a lot of burble beyond you and you need to use your reserve canopy. If you're buying a new container, I suggest you to buy a Racer. It's the best choice !!!

As a full time jumper comfort and safety go hand and hand. i presently own two Racers and intend on owning nothing but. A few people at my home DZ comment on what they think of the pop top reserve deployment..Funny thing is all their reserve pilot chute's have to go through a number of flaps before strutting their stuff. i love my racers and i'm one of the few that can check their own main pins in the plane before exit. I consider the racer to be one of if not the safest rigs out there and the comfort offered by the racer is second to none.

Blue skies to all.
play safe and enjoy the great blue yonder

The Racer is simply the best rig on the market! I own two Racers and couldn't be more pleased. As a bigger jumper, I appriciate the fit and comfort offered by JumpShack. The strength of the harness is second to none. What else can be said about the reserve system.... It's the fastest and the safest out there. I don't trust my to anything but the Racer.

I have been jumping a Racer since 1980. I find it to be the most comfortable rig on the market. In my 20 years of jumping I have used my reserve 13 times. I always know that my reserve will be quick off my back. They are designed to let the jumper achieve a deep arch if need be. I would recommend this rig to anyone looking for the most comfortable and most reliable rig on the market. In my 20 years of jumping I have owned 5 Racers and of course my next one will be a Racer.

Hi, before more nothing Happy 2000 for all. Good I chose the Racer as my first equipment through indications of more experienced people, as Ricardo Pettená, Marcos Pettená and Márcia Pettená. Today, after 300 skips with the same, and testing others containers, I verified how much the equipment is comfortable, and intend now, together with my team, to standardize the equipment, all for Racer. I use to advantage the moment to know as to acquire discounting for teams.

Good Jumps

I choose the racer because i heard a lot of good things about it but when i got it and jumped it a few times it was a nice opening and everything but when i was packing i noticed that there was alot of velcroe involve and when i jumped with people they kept hearing a ripping noise when i opened so they though that i would have a mal but it was just the velcroe. but otherwise i think its a great countainer.

Currently I own 2 racers and I love them. They are by far more comfortable than other rigs I've tried. I like the fact that my reserve pins are protected and I don't have to worry about them when I put the container on. They flex making my arching more natural. Funny thing is some people at my dz say they suck....They have never tried one. When they try my one, they don't have nothing to say about it. If your rigger complains about the reserve repack, change your rigger and get a competent one.

I currently own 3 Racers, and I find that they're the best rig on the market. Especially for smaller people, they're by far the most comfortable. I love having only 1 inch of harness going over my shoulder, instead of 2-3 inches for most rigs. They flex in between the main and reserve containers allowing you to arch as much as your body allows, as opposed to other rigs which tend to be quite inflexible. I've got 6 reserve rides on my Racers (yeah, I'm a CRW dog) and the deployments are second to none. And they have excellent customer service as well.

I chose a Racer because of it's design. I found Racer to be more comfortable than other rigs I tried. I'm a woman and especially liked the NOS (narrow over the shoulder) option. I also liked the reserve system, which is fun to pop before re-packs and watch it shoot across the room. Another nice feature is the scooped neck in the back. Unless other manufacturers come out with major design improvements, I would buy another Racer. Although I've heard rumors that some riggers don't like to do reserve re-packs on them, I haven't encountered this and actually had a rigger tell me he prefers to do Racers because they don't use a D-bag (another feature that contributes to it's comfort).
