It works
Lack of user support

Works every time as long as you keep the battery fresh and program it correctly. I bought the speaker extension so it would beep in both ears, works great!

You can hear it. That's all you need.
It rubs against my ear. If it were a woman, that would be great.

I bought it second hand and it has only failed me when I failed to change the battery on time. I have been able to make the battery last 2 seasons by removing it during the off-season. I was thinking of getting the light for it but that's just another useless gimmick you don't need to worry about at 3000 feet.
Buy one.

They look good
Unrealiable and TimeOut will not communicate with me

I purchased 8 units for our local skydiving community thinking that the new models would be cool.

Well!! they will suddenly go off on the ground, beside the aircraft and at various times in freefall. In fact I had all 8 units in a bag and swung them around in the air whilst on the ground and they all went off.

The dealer will not contact me, I have tried ringing them with no response, emailed them repeatedly. I have basically been screwed by Time Out tecnologies.

The skydiving industry is small and this type of customer response is not warranted.
Do not deal with this company or there faulty products!

Functional
Can only set one altitude, too fat, buttons can be hard to reach

I had a flashing time out. It worked and was loud enough. Looks ridiculus on most helmets made for Protrack/Prodytter (i.e. A3). You can only set one altitude, the other two are preset. Sets off easliy under canopy. Very uncomfortable in a frap hat. The flasher is very hard to see, you have to concentrate on it to see it flashing (and i used it on a camera helmet where the flasher was mounted in front of my eyeball!), which begs the question... If you can get one cheap, it probably make a good backup if you have the room.

does all it is suppose to without all of the bells and whistles that you really don't need
bit on the thick side, buttons can be hard to get at to change settings

This does all that an audible should do, let you know that you should be paying better attention to the upcoming terra firma. Nothing fancy about it and this is what makes it so great to use

accurate and loud

Great audible altimeter! If you want something for BOP and a flatline around decision time, then the Timeout! is for you.

I have recently purchased one of the new versions of the time out...it is ALOT thinner than the older ones...but is still simple to use. only the BoP can be changed...the minimum main pull is set and the "your about to be dirt" tone is also set.....Very loud...I can even hear it in my mindwarp...just an overall excelent purchase...and the price of 135$brand new was great too...

I had a dytter, went to time-out, and I have a pro-dytter now.
Time-out is good and easy to use, it' is too thick to fit in your helmet and uses too much batteries ( so does the pro-dytter).
It is a lot better then the classic Dytter.
Do not forget that front-riser dives on high-performance canopies ( stiletto, extreme, velocity, springo, ettc ) can make the thing flatline on landings, which is very uncomfortable.

I've had a Time Out for three years now and absolutely love it! When I did have a problem with it, I sent it back to Cool & Groovy and they sent me a brand new one. The only drawback is that the batteries must be replaced every year, but other than that, I have no other complaints. I don't think this audible will work well with the Invertigo helmet due to the mounting set-up. I use the Time Out in my Bone Head helmet and it fits perfectly. I recommend this audible to anyone that wants a simple easy to use reliable audible without all the "high tech" gimmicks. Great product!

I recently got myself the standard Time Out with the flashing LED attachment. I've found the device to be a marked improvement over the basic dytter I had previously. Noise levels are loud enough to be heard in freefall, and the extra long beeping after break-off is bloody good! The LED is a wash out in daylight, and fixing it to your googles looks very inconvenient, particularly if you mount the Time out on a helmet. I wouldn't recommend paying extra for this feature unless you do a lot of night jumps.

The "time out" when used with a good reliable altimeter such as a Altimaster III or Digitude work very good together. Having the beeps at break-off altitude lets me know to check if I've been trying to turn points or doing a horny gorilla or other such fun and frivolity. I don't rely on it totally, but used together is a excellent way to insure altitude awarness and prevent low pulls or other such stupid things.

The Time-Out by the Cool & Groovy Fridge Co. is great to have. You can set your break off altitude, but not your main deployment altitude or minimum deployment altitude. But it is very accurate and resets itself every 20 minutes so you don't need to make sure it's at 0 like a regular altimeter. It's very nice to have!!!
