steveorino 7 #1 July 19, 2010 Anyone have a clue how you do this? We launched a 3 way with "ok" results. two out on strut -- one diving door. We have no clue how to add a 4th if Jill comes out next weekend. steveOrino
Millstone 4 #2 July 19, 2010 Just hang from the strut. It's easier than you would think. I.e. 2 on the step, one hanger, and one in the door.
geofsmth 0 #3 July 20, 2010 Put one under the strut, one hanging and two on the step.
tr027 0 #4 July 20, 2010 1 under/forward of the strut with foot on wheel, 2 on step/strut, 1 in the door then just fly together... there's actually plenty of time."The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. Jethers203 0 #5 July 28, 2010 I would have one on the tail side of the door. Holding onto the door edge, how a videographer does with a tandem. The other 2 on the step and one on the strut (all the way out). Or, one in door, step, and strut. Should work.
Martini 0 #6 July 30, 2010 I love it when people give advice on what "should work". We've done many 4-way w/s jumps from a 182, Tony's method works well, so does 2 on the step, one sitting in the door with a foot on the strut followed by a door diver. With practice the exit is pretty seamless and only takes a little longer to set up than a 4-way RW. Having a pilot willing to give a decent cut helps. I've never seen a wingsuit exit from the camera slot on a 182, not saying that it can't be done but it doesn't strike me as a safe thing to do.Sometimes you eat the bear.............. curialis 0 #7 May 20, 2013 I realize this is an old post but I have found a reliable way to launch a 3way from a 182 is to have one person sitting in the "V" of the strut facing the rear of the plane with 1 foot on the step and 1 foot hanging , 2 on the step side by side facing forward. The person in the V holds chest straps, the person on the inside step holds arm grips. This has been very successful for a linked exit and ready to turn points by 8500 feet from a 9500 exit. I am going to try to add a fourth sitting in door with foot on step and taking arm grips on the inside step and the person in the "V". The fourth could easily dive or be hanging from the strut but I am working on bulletproof exits for newer jumpers.
roostnureye 2 #8 May 20, 2013 dude were not talking about RW! we launch 4 ways pretty often from a 182. one all the way out on the strut hanging, one halfway on the strut with one foot on the wheel, one on step, and one in door with one foot on step. full hangar drops first followed by half, then step, then doorFlock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE
