PhoenixRising 0 #34 July 30, 2009 Last night Rook asked Jeff and myself to join his UFO jump team.....with our wingsuits!!!! So the firework engineers strapped two VERY large sparklers to each our feet. They had to be wired up, inside our suits going to arming devices and triggers, which were taped to our chest straps. We exited after the Freeflyers, Once off the aircraft, we had to reach to our chest straps and arm the canisters. Once armed, we got together and fired one each. We then flew in a zig zag pattern for the crowd. after the first one burned out (20 seconds) we got back together, and lit the second. We then went head down toghether and peeled off in different directions. SIMPLY AWESOME one of the coolest jumps I have ever done. I am glad we did not burn up, and our wingsuits endured. There will hopefully be some video of it up soon. If you have not been to SUMMERFEST, YOU MUST GO. The UFO Jump and fireworks are reason enough. We will have an even cooler jump next year.Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits

mccordia 73 #37 July 31, 2009 Sounds like an awesome jump! Was that nighttime/late in the day, or is that stuff even visable brightly during daytime? Cant wait to see! Sounds like something also worth submitting to some news stations etc (being quite special outside of a normal skydive in all aspects, as well as visually interesting in several ways).JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? Sounds like something also worth submitting to some news stations etc (being quite special outside of a normal skydive in all aspects, as well as visually interesting in several ways). Nighttime Then the Otter made a low pass along the runway and they detonated about 8 big charges on the ground as it passed, along with X gallons of fuel ignited so it looked like a bombing run creating a wall of fire. We were about 50 yards back and could feel the heat. And that was just the kick-off for the big fireworks display. Summerfest is REALLY COOL.
