USPA Instituting WSI regulations

Recommended Posts

Are you in favor of or against USPA instituting a WSI and WSI I/E program similar or exactly as the one outlined in the "Parachutist Editorial" thread?

Yeah, that's what we said in the UK... Now look what's happened... [:/]

I am against it.

I view wingsuit flying as a discipline just as RW,CRW,VRW,Freestyle, Swooping, and Skysurfing are.
None of the listed disciplines require someone to have an instructor rating to teach, and all are engaged in by licensed skydivers.

If you want a vote, for or against, email your USPA regional director with your *reasoned* opinion.

I agree 100% with that statement. Forgive the short notice, but if anyone has any thoughts or comments from the SE Region, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I have already received some valuable input from local wingsuiters and will be checking my email right to the start of the BOD meeting for anything else.

Personally, I don't agree with the idea of a USPA wingsuit instruction rating, for many of the same reasons that Betsy stated, but would like to hear all arguments for or against it.

Blue skies,

Tom Noonan
SE Regional Director

(The above statements are 100% my personal opinions, I am not speaking for or on behalf of USPA. Only USPA's President and Executive Director can speak for or on behalf of USPA.)
