mccordia 73 #26 April 25, 2009 The movi was fully shot in HD, but finalised in normal PAL and NTSC (SD) resolution. For all people who asked, all PAL copies have been shipped, and so have a load of NTSC copies. But in that later one, a small encoding/burning error was found (causing a playback error in one of the DVD extras). Even though the main film and other videos are all working, we've choosen to replace the current batch asap. to make sure everyone receives a quality product (as you are used to from PF) There are new NTSC copies made this week, and they will be shipped directly to US costumers monday in a week. Our apologies for this small delay. For those not willing to wait, we can ship you the current version, and swap out the DVD for a new one in a week or so. Let us now if thats what you prefer. People asking about orders, PF is handling all EU (pal) orders, and Morpheus is handling all US (ntsc) orders. I will keep everyone up to date on whats happening here.JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? yuri_base 1 #27 May 14, 2009 Watched Fly the Line 2 several times already. And every time I'm thinking, "Such a quality of flying will be hard to beat for a long time." Just outstanding. This is true flying that sometimes seems to be endless. The level of performance clearly seen in this movie - L/D in 3.0 whereabouts - makes not a mere incremental improvement over what we've seen in the past, but an eye-opening qualitative breakthrough. Exits are smooth and precise, and angle of attack is nailed in the first few seconds. The planeouts are almost unreal, with glide ratios of 4-5 for 10-15 seconds making footage look like it was taken from a hangglider. The clever helmet mount with a very wide, yet almost distortion-free lens looking back accentuates the distance traveled and quickly makes the mountain become a small part of the landscape. The smoke trails are just awesomly tight, clearly demonstrating the quality of airflow (compare to smoke trails of f10ckers). The flight lines are like lines carved by a sculptor - precise, often even scary, nothing can demonstrate the skill and performance more. When I want to show to someone what mountain flying is, the is the DVD I will play. Simply breathtaking! Oh, and the last, but not least: f10cking sucks! mccordia 73 #34 May 15, 2009 Yes, they should be arriving in the US either yesterday or today. And that one is fully on my account. The initial copies you and everyone where supposed to receive had a glitch (as reported above) with one of the extras having a burn error (on behalf of the company that did the reproduction) causing the DVD not to be 100% what it should be. Ive had new copies ordered/made, and shipped directly to morpheus the moment we discovered the error. But sadly the company doing the reproduction needed a few days, as did the postal service and the US customs. But hopefully those shiny discs will also finaly be shipped from Morpheus for the USA folks this mon/tuesday. The people that already received the initial version (with the error) will get their disc replaced asap. as well. For the next batch of FTL2 DVDs, we'll do the coping in the US (illiminating the logistics/wait in sending etc.) My personal appologies for waiting, but Id rather have you be 100% happy with something a bit late, than feeling cheated with a product not fully up to specs.. It'll be worth the wait.. JarnoJC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

mccordia 73 #36 May 15, 2009 Quote Quote a bit late That's the problem with us impatient Americans. So far all other Americans Ive met and talked with about this problem with the DVD were normal and understanding people. Wouldnt want to throw everyone on one pile as 'impatient Americans' Ive been quite open every step of the way on the FTL2 DVD (seeing as the whole postproduction process/DVD menu/creation was my work), and sadly due to a production error, its delayed for the US crowd. Its out of my/our controll, and anyone that sends me a PM or email (or to Robi/James) will get this same honest answer. The wingsuit business is not a multimillion dolar industry. So when there is a sudden surge in orders, there isnt a huge 500 people company there to rush through all the orders. Point me to the single skydiving brand which creates custom, size specific gear that delivers everything within a few days/hours. We always hear all the fluffy pink stories, but so far Ive heard, seen and experienced stories on sizing problems, delivery issues, construction issues etc, from every single brand. Quote To us, "a bit late" is a few hours/days. Evidently, in the more enlightened European countries, "a bit late" equals 2 months. Whats this whole 'enlighted European' thing? Dont know what kind of chip you have on your shoulder, but Jarno the a##hole would have sufficed. Europe doesnt have enough ponies to have everyone be like me... As to the DVD...The recap: The PAL DVDs where sent out to costumers about 2 weeks after the PRE-order went into effect (a little wait on a PRE-order is quite normal, hence the PRE) And the NTSC DVDs one week later (the conversion isnt a simple mouse-click if you want to do it right). Sadly the first people that got theirs reported the error, so we (I) decided/asked to stop sending them out from morpheus, and went to work to replace em with a 100% functional and quality product asap. And that process took about 2 weeks up till now (DVDs in USA if customs cooperates) due to me going from USA directly to Spain. I see this great urge in you to tell everyone how to do business. I think if you put half the effort into being a bit less of an ass publicly, and the rest in trying to grow a little patience, the world would be a much better place.I hope you also receive your DVD sometime this coming week, and enjoy watching it as much as I did making it...JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? bdrake529 0 #37 May 15, 2009 Dude, chill out. My entire post was written tongue in cheek. It's a freakin DVD, not a wingsuit I need for a BASE trip that cost me thousands of dollars and hours of logistical planning. I can wait. I was just teasing you. Every Phoenix-Fly product I've had/seen IS worth wait. That wasn't a purely sarcastic line.Brian Drake

Reading (in both PMs and publicly) the shit, some people think is just to send/write about (be it commercial or non commercial) work others create...the fun goes out of the snappy comments when its also a (tongue in cheek or not) thing thats damaging the public image of the work created.. But take my reply as tongue in cheek as well if you want.. bdrake529 0 #40 May 15, 2009 For the public record, I have nothing personal against Phoenix-Fly. I have 2 of their wingsuits, their tracking suit, and some day, before I have grandchildren, I hope to be the proud owner of the Fly the Line 2 DVD (pony Jarno, pony). The innovation of their suit designs, the quality of their construction, the sheer insanity and awe-inspiring nature of their proxy flying footage: I have a crush on Phoenix-Fly. I don't have a crush on their order fulfillment times. I also don't have a crush on their inability to keep their customers informed of their order status (Jarno is helping change this though, Pony to him!). And I especially don't have a crush on euphemistic labeling of wait times. So yeah, I've griped a bit on this forum. That's what this forum is for. Griping, whining, joking, bitching, name-calling, pony porn, etc... Jarno and I have already had make-up cyber-pony sex, so I think we're cool now (I'm a generous lover). But I want everyone else to know I bear no ill-will towards PF. I'm actually very understanding of the considerations that have kept their order fulfillment times in limbo. I'm not as understanding of their lack of communication in this regard (or in some cases, misleading information). So yeah, I bitched a bit. But now that I'm happy (my V3 just arrived), I'll shut up.Brian Drake

Han-Solo 0 #42 May 18, 2009 Proxyflying is soooo last year. FTL2 sets the bar real low for Limboflying. The film is a true inspiration when it comes to technical lines and controlled flight. The precision in contouring the terrain, altering glideratios according to the lines and visualizing the flights with smoke, exciting shooting angles and twoways, sets the standard for presenting wingsuitflying in a spectacular way. Also the array of different jumps and excellent terrain keeps the jaw dropped through the whole session. Thank you guys! I remember watching the snowboard gurus ripping deep pow on the mountain sides of Alaska before an upcomming season. For the first time since, I got that same sensation. I wanna do what they do! I'm gonna do what they do! Bigwall season is upon usVKB#
