Monowing or Tri wing

What causes the wing to pressurize on this type of suit? When looking at tri-wing like a Tony Suit, I see air inlets that look like scoops at each shoulder and below crotch... so it appears air will be forced in and wings pressurized. I don't see those on this monowing.

On the SFly suit, there are hughe air inlets on the the arms all the way from shoulder to wrist. In the crotch area there is also an triangular air inlet w. airlock. You can have a look in the: Manual

Airlocks are only needed for acrobatic suits to lock the opening on the upper surface and serve no purpose on regular suits.



A few years ago I would have agreed with that but after flying suits with simple locks that are made of materials lending to increased torsional cell stiffness and the locks effectivness, I'm going to disagree.

Looking at how more and more canopies are also using x-brace and airlock technology to increase stiffness and thus performance, I also tend to disagree with this statement...

Better inflation/presurisation, takes a lot of arm-strain away as well..

My comment(was unqualified...my mistake) is limited to one design of airlocks(for hole in the wing inlets).

As far as X-bracing goes, that is to reduce deformation and maintain a thinner wing shape.

Airlocks as far as my knowledge goes were introduced to make the canopies handle better in turbulence.

As for better pressurization and arm strain, I have been saying that since 2005 :P.

Having an airlock on an inlet for a wing that has

a) Vent at the root or at the wrist (you know the design I am talking about, can post a picture if needed) and / or
b) Is not air locked at the sleeve

is wrong on priorities.
