whizzif 0 #151 January 7, 2009 I found a sweet cabin near the dropzone for cheap if I can get 4 people (including myself) -- let me know -- it's got a pool, near the DZ -- looks like a really chill spot -- I might have one other coming with me -- but let me know if there are any other birds needing a nest. I"m flying in Feb 9 and leaving Feb 16... need to book asap though [email protected] 434-242-3243 Let me know.. CAW!

mccordia 73 #160 January 9, 2009 Quote ... me too. I still haven't gotten three ! I don't think I have the strengthaltitude for five minutes anyway ! The best registered performances so far by some of the best pilots in some of the biggest suits currently available have been slighly over 60 seconds in 3000 ft (with a flaring technique). Using a standard altitude of 12000 ft, opening altitude of 3000 ft, and flying it constant (no flare into a measuring window) I thing 99,9% of all WS flyers out there will be hard pressed to score anything more then a few seconds past 3 minutes. If you want more time..get more altitude, or pull lower..JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

whizzif 0 #166 January 14, 2009 Careful Dan -- not too many jumps -- the goal of SLUM U is to asymptotically approach becoming a WHUFFO. It is an art -- one that only you and I have mastered. Danny and I will be offering SLUMMIN' coaching at the boogie this year -- Danny -- we're going to need more chairs. I'm thinking we could probably get some SLUM formation loads on the ground if we had enough chairs with rollers -- formation SLUMMIN' is in its infancy stages -- we'll work out all the kinks and down all the drinks soon enough... Stuuu 0 #167 January 16, 2009 Doing my best to get some travel companions for this boogie- not looking good. Was wondering if there is anyone headed to Puerto Rico on 2-9 and leaving on 2-16 that would be into sharing a room/car rental for the week. Anyone have an extra bed that needs filling, or a free slot in their car? Let me know, I would hate to miss this boogie. Stu (Montana)

notsane 0 #175 January 19, 2009 I wanted to post some last minute items to think about: I hate to travel on commercial flights with my gear, but both USPA and Cypres have some hints for making it easier ... http://www.uspa.org/USPAMembers/Membership/Travel/WithintheUS/tabid/311/Default.aspx http://www.cypres-usa.com/AirTravelUpdate.htm Remember to put your hook knife in your checked bag as well as your personal flotation device, if you bring one. PFD's are not required for beach jumps, but while "life insurance" only pays when you're dead, this investment pays off when you live. I wear one for the beach jumps ... Cabela's has them: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0043183943220a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&sort=all&Go.y=0&_D:hasJS=+&Nty=1&hasJS=true&No=18&Ntt=pfd&N=0&_D:sort=+&_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/search/search-box.jsp.form1&Go.x=0&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1 Airlines are also being real dicks about the weight limit on checked bags. Weigh your bags when you pack them, or, like a fat girl who wants sex, be prepared to pay (giggity). Lastly, if your last name is "Gray", you might want to consider a personal medical kit with extra stitching thread in it. I can't wait to see you all there! Woo-Hoo!
