droquette 0 #76 December 1, 2008 In November I flew direct with American Airlines from SJU to Ohare (is that how you spell it...??) The island has suffered a major setback in 08' with a reduction in flights in general... and now the flights remaining get full fast and therefore more expensive.. so get your tickets or start swimming over... the boogie is going to be awesome! skittles_of_SDC 0 #77 December 1, 2008 yeah, there are still some non-stop flights but there are only 3 out of 21 on the day I searched for.
SuperGirl 0 #78 December 1, 2008 btw if anyone is a student or a faculty member at a college/university there might be some kick ass student discounted deals on flights to PR on studentuniverse.com I haven't checked other locations but from DC I found a direct flight to SJU at pretty much half the price I was finding on any other search engine... it was cheaper than flying to florida

Skwrl 56 #82 December 2, 2008 They got kicked off of the Puritanical photobucket hosting site... (That behavior met with my approval, by the way.) Seriously, folks, this is the event to come to... Even for you Europeans - last I checked it's winter in February in all of the Northern Hemisphere. You simply can't beat the weather, beaches, rum, scantily clad women, rum, scantily clad women and rum that this event offers. Did I mention the rum? Yes, you have to fly to a US territory, which probably requires a tissue sample for Homeland Security, but it's a small price to pay...Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork

notsane 0 #87 December 7, 2008 FYI I always put my flotation gear and hook knife in my checked baggage.
Skwrl 56 #88 December 7, 2008 That setup uses a C02 cartridge, right? How/where do you get that on Puerto Rico? My limited knowledge of this stuff was that TSA doesn't allow you to travel by air with C02 cartridges, even if they are in checked baggage. That's why I was wondering if Scott's flotation device was a self-inflated one...Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork

peggs82 0 #100 December 13, 2008 Quote Does anyone know what the oxygen situation is? Having never done a high altitude jump I'm concerned about how my body may react ... Much like the airlines...there regrettably has been some cutbacks. We will no longer be serving oxygen on the flight. You, however, are welcome to bring your own o2 from home. I recommend an ample supply of ziplock bags...but remember, only fill them half way up or they will pop!
