Vx(3) proto, sneak preview

Recommended Posts

personal experience after some (20+) base flights with the suit on different sights:
the suit is easier to fly comparing to V1,V2,Vx
not meaning the suit is easy...it can fly you also, more power for nice flights but also more power if something is not going super solid. exits for example. but after changing arm-wing position on exit all is fine.
pilots can fly faster if they know how , but suit is not automatically faster.
biggest benefits ...according to faster inflation the suit starts earlier to fly...did some 2 ways together with V2, and after some seconds you find yourself way higher.
better glide indeed...not measured by ratio point x to y but easy to see how far i was able to fly.
a big step forward direction safety ,fun and the dream of flight. Gives you a good feeling at the exit when the only landing is far and the start is short.
take care

For all those still wondering about cost, looks like Morpheus has announced on their site that they are taking orders and it's listed there. It's an unsurprisingly great deal. :)And yes, the group discount is still in effect.

i dunno if 1500 is a great deal, you could call it a fair price. Is the coloring the same, because as far as i can tell the vampire pages of their website identical to v2 pages with the exception of the price and name?

PS 1495 makes it the most $$$ suit on market if i can count right. Not by much but it is.

You forget the fact that the American economy have dropped faster than in a third world country the last years.

When V2 was released in 2006 1400$ was about 1080€. Today 1495 equals 1015€. This means that Robbie has cut the prices with more than 5% to help out Americans through your financial difficulties. Some people would actually think thats a very nice gesture.

I'm not complaining, and i'm certainly still buying oneB| so when compared high end suits from other fools it seems a fair price. The euro comparison does make it seem like a good deal though, i had considered the exchange but didn't know it had dropped from v2. cool beans, i can't wait.

Official launch should be in a few weeks :)

If the new suit has the new zip-over-the-shoulder connections as the other suits and the same inflation system as the new suits then I am sure it will be a tremendous success. If my boy Robi still thinks that customers do not want/need a back-vented Vampire than he is sadly mistaken and I will continue to covet my perfect Phantom2 for most things and my Super Mach1 for pure belly performance.

i'm a customer and i don't want a back vents on my vampire 3 if it sacrifices performance.

I am sadly mistaken as well. I just never felt too comfortable backflying with ROL. Of course, that's a personal preference. Also, if performance is sacrificed, I don't want 'em either.

thats 100% against em so far chuck! also i won a 20 dollar bet today, are you still franchising your school?

I am actually really surprised at you guys. I don't think that the "new" inlet system hampers PF performance in any way. On the contrary, it has added increased rigidity and inflation on every single other model. FWIW, I still have a Vampire on the rack, but it's definitely not the sharpest tool in the speed/distance category. Not in any of our experiences down here anyway. Until Robi makes a V2 (or bigger) suit with the now-common inlets of the other suits, then everyone should withhold judgement as to whether or not those new inlets "sacrifice performance."

Also, regardless of whether or not you personally ever feel the need to backfly in a Vampire, there are a ton of people who do like to.

Again, I would just like to see whether or not a V2 (Vx3, whatever) would post usable performance gains (front and rear) with the "new" intake system.

I have more PF suits on my rack than I do anything else; they are all great. I just feel that the V series would benefit from the same updates as all of the other suits in the lineup.

i would be also interested to see if a back vented arm vent did increase performance too. I want my v3 to be maximized for glide slope performance, however Robi does that is gonna rock i'm sure. I may backfly in it, but thats not why i'm buying a v3.

I'm withholding judgement on the venting situation until it shows up on my doorstep. PS about the venting situation looking at the pictures they look different from the current PF lineup too.

No franchising then?;)

Though its fun to turn it into a suit for flocking and creative flying, I think most people who order/buy a Vx3 buy it as a specialist tool for their intented flying style (fast & far) and probably dont care to much for quick rigging and backflying.

Its probably easy to turn it into something else, but why not just buy one of the many other suits specificly designed for flocking/flying on your belly/back/head and quickly zipping it on and off between those tandemloads?;)

Id be quite happy to have a Vx3, and fly it specificly for its design purpoise (or at least try...B|). For the rest Ill just grab a stealth/sm1/blade/whatever..

I'm guessing it has a few more days but if it helps you could set the existing pictures on your computer background.
