Pre-Cochstedt weekend @ Schaffen (info on sleeping/driving etc)

Recommended Posts

Ok boys and girls.
Only 3 more weeks to go!

We've already made a webpage with info about that weekend.

Here's some updated information (also added to the page)

accomedation
People arriving thursday/friday before the weekend, are welcome to stay at Costyn and My Place. We have space for (resp) 5 to 8 people.

On saterday, we'll be camping on the DZ in belgium.
And sunday/monday, those who want, can stay at Chez Costyn, or Jarno's Inn

Costyn lives in Utrecht, and I live in Maassluis (close to Rotterdam).
We'll then meet up in Amsterdam, for a fun day out with the whole group on monday (that will probably be a train trip, so people can drinkB|)

Tuesday morning, we'll head off to Cochstedt quite early, so we can arrive in the afternoon, and register. And then make our first jump wednesday morning.

If you want to stay at our place, please send us an email at [email protected], and specify where you want to sleep.

Car Pooling
If you are renting a car, and you have extra space available, either driving from Holland to Belgium, Belgium to Holland, or Holland to Germany or back the other way.
Please post your ride here, so people can reply and join your car (maybe format it like this example, showing?)

People who carpool can also split gas/rental costs ofcourse

Costyns Car
- Utrecht (NL) to Belgium, FLB weekend, Belgium to Utrecht (NL)
- 1 extra place available

1. taken by Mirjam

Costyns Car
- Utrecht to Cochstedt, AN72 Boogie, Cochstedt to Utrecht(NL)
- 1 extra place available

1. taken by Mirjam

planes
The dropzone has (next to the C208 Caravan) arranged an extra Porter for the wingsuit pilots, so plenty of lift capacity!

cost
We have gotten some question about registration etc. for our pre-cochstedt weekend.

THERE IS NONE!

Its a free weekend!
The organising and outside photo/video we'll be doing wont cost you a penny. We pay our own jumps, just like you.

If you want to buy someone a jump, then who are we to stop you:P;) but again...and we stress this....there is NO charge for anything, besides your own jumps!

Jumps at Schaffen cost 20 euro's (or 14.,50/16,50 if you're a member, depending on how many jumps you buy)
Membership is 100 euro's (and gets you a year membership of Schaffen, Moorsele AND Zwartberg, so definately worth it, if you plan on dropping by in Belgium once or twice more this year)

All jumps will be briefed (something new and special planned for the dirt dives, to make things easyer for everyone) and properly debriefed with video, and (positive) feedback on everyones flying.

coaching
For those interested, there is room for 1 on 1 coaching, and that will be at slot price (no extra coaching fees)

phone numbers

Hmm, Jarno, your prices don't seem to be accurate.
For members 1 jumpticket is €17.5
For 11 jumps it is €175
For 100 jumps it is €1490 if I'm not mistaken.

Nonmember is indeed €20/jump

The dropzones have PIN machines, but from our past experience, cash is the best (and only) way to go...

With +- 10 BMI/PFIs walking around, I dont think getting coaching or a FJC is going to be a problem.

We want to make this a weekend for everyone, by everyone...so all help in all corners is appreachiated..(especialy with FJC students)

Schaffen DZ doesn't acept Visa only local (belgium) cards.
But we are more than happy to escort you to the nearest ATM machine. (just don't tell us your pinnumber)B|

If people from Poland are called Poles, why aren't people from Holland called Holes???

Johan
I plan on driving to Schaffen Saturday morning, returning Sunday night, going to Cochstedt on Monday during the day. Plenty of room for luggage. Might be going straight from Hilversum DZ to Schaffen; there's a party on Friday night. If I can help somebody out, I'm flexible.

Rotterdam (NL) to Belgium, FLB weekend, Belgium to Rotterdam (NL)
- 1 place available

Rotterdam to Cochstedt, AN72 Boogie, Cochstedt to Rotterdam (NL)
- 1 place available
Johan.
I am. I think.

I will be attending both Schaffen and Cochstedt, traveling from Schaffen to Cochstedt via Amsterdam and the Fly like a Brick tour. I will have a rental car and room for a passenger.

Belgium to Netherlands after Schaffen

1 place available

Netherlands to Cochstedt on July 3

1 place available

I am arriving and leaving through Berlin, so will go to Berlin after Cochstedt, plans are currently vague but you can PM me if you are looking for transportation that way.

By the sound of this thread Schaffen and Cochstedt are going to rock!

Starting to feel like a child on christmas eve!

Can I go to the airport yet for my flight to clog land?

small plan update

We want to meet at Schaffen on saterday around 8:00 AM for paper-checks and checkin at the manifest etc

Around 8:30 we hope everyone is checked in, so we can devide the people into groups (depending on the number of people there, 2 or 3 groups) and manifest, so (around 9:00) we can start putting up the first loads.

Before that time, we will do one big briefing on safety in flocks, and after that start on the briefing/slots for the different groups.

Each group will probably be around 10 people.
We plan to jump in these 2 or 3 groups for most of saterday and sunday.

These groups will all be working on one or two formations over the weekend.
Trying to fly them slotted, and as clean and smooth as possible.
Working on improving everyones flying on exit, approach, in the formation, and at breakoff.

This weekend will mostly be about working on the skills to fly the bigger stuff in cochstedt. The smoother you fly your slot..the easyer germany is going to be the week after..

Once we feel a formation has been flown to a groups best capacity, we will move on to a next one.

If we have enough people there who can, we will have one group flying really fast/speedy formations.

Depending on the skill level, we want to try and end the sunday with one huge (maybe 2 airplane porter/caravan) load, flying one big formation
