outrager 6 #1 October 28, 2006 Yo! I had a strange experience yesterday that i cannot quite explain. About 20 seconds into a normal cliff flight in a maxed out position an abrupt and violent vibration started suddenly. My first thought was that something blew up on the leg wing or deflector. The vibration was incredibly loud, shook the whole suit and reduced the glide a lot. I was not keen on doing anything radical and kept flying the suit trying to make it to LZ. After about 30 seconds the vibration stopped as abruptly as it started, without any particular control input that i can remember. There is no damage on the suit, and i cannot recreate this vibration. Any idea what the hell it could be? Anybody knows the theory of flutter? bsbd! Yuri.

yuri_base 1 #6 October 28, 2006 Interestingly enough, it was V-2 where flutter was first discovered. V-2, a German rocket used to bomb London in 1944. outrager 6 #9 October 29, 2006 Definitely not a stall... it was still moving forward quite fast and still gliding over 1.5 (required to make LZ). On a second inspection there are loose stiches at the leg wing/bootie junction, so it probably was the leg wing after all. Another nice new wall today. No problems with the flutter - just some rain and clouds.... looks like the summer is over, after all On other hand, Bavarian beer is as good as it's ever been! bsbd! Yuri.
