KrisFlyZ 0 #1 December 29, 2005 Intended for people buying wingsuits ofcourse.... I purchased two wingsuits recently and had to go thru my bank for exchanging local currency(Pounds Sterling) to Euros. The first time I did the transfer, I went to my bank, purchased Euros and transferred them. The exchange rate recieved was around 1.43(compared to the market rate of 1.47x). The next time I did it, I asked them to transfer euros but an equivalent of an amount in pounds. I received a 1.467(compared to 1.47x market rate) exchange rate on this transaction. Always make the transaction in local currency with your bank, the receiving bank usually gets a better rate from your bank than you can. Hope this helps. YMMV Kris. P.S: This is the same deal when you pay in a foreign country with your credit/debit card, always ask them to charge you in the local currency of that country.
