Flying a Prodigy with Keen Sandals

Recommended Posts

I know that the Prodigy has snaps to your shoes... anyone jumping with Keen Sandals (closed rubber toe) which have the bungie laceups? I know my Tevas didn't work when I demo'd the Prodigy because the velcro could come undone easily, but I hope that I can fly the Prodigy with Keen since I like to freefly with them as well.

Personally, I think you will be able to do it and I also think it is a poor decission. If you don't believe me, ask Katie Blue about wearing sandals with a wingsuit.Besides, didn't you recently tweak one of your ankles pretty good(july)?.

Yup Scott..but that was my open toe Tevas and my rolled ankle didn't have much to do with the shoe IMO, it was the fact that I jumped after a rainstorm...however these Keen sandals are what I call my "winter sandals"..since they have a closed toe;)

I use tandem bands thrue straps on Tevas, Like the way Teva fills the bootie better, wear bigger size sandal to fill bootie and add controll surface, bands dont break and looped thrue both straps, never had problem...
Only he can be happy, who can make his the present hour, for today he has lived

They're sort of sandals, "hybrids" actually. I always thought they were a pretty good option for skydivers that like to wear sandals. They have good coverage but leave the top open for airflow.

Yo,
I've worn tevas with my PF tracking pants and just larkshead a rubberband to the strap across the top and then hook the snap to it. I don't buy velcro tevas, old river guide habit:P.
That said, the only time I really skydive with sandals on is at the beach boogie:), otherwise I'd rather have a nice shoe on for an off field landing, or long hike back to DZ, or climb over barb wire fence, or tree landing, or landing on runway, or....... get it? :)

Take care,
Blair

PS O I used to freefly barefoot, until BASE 301 sat me down for a talking too..... FWIW...:)

Yup, jumping after a rainstorm is a well known cause of injury in skydiving... :S ...
