ikenever 1 #76 December 22, 2005 We will do what we have to do in order to get you there. The Russians just made this MI-26 proposal to me last night. I am waiting for the confirmation on the schedule. We will annouce the confirmation as soon as we receive it. Once again, it was their proposal. In addition, the MI-8's will be there also. LouDiamond 1 #86 December 23, 2005 There is a possibility that my schedule may flex and I might be able to make this event but I won't put my name on the list just yet. However, For those who are already planning on going, the Russians have asked that a BMI course be run so if your interested in doing that as well while in Russia, drop BirdMan an e-mail and let them know. Since he is located right next door, Jari has offered his services for those who would like to fly into Helsinki and take a look around town before catching the train to Russia for this event. Plane, train, or automobile. However you plan to get there is up to you but there will be plenty of fun to be had just in getting there for those who want it. Some really good travel information can be found HERE and HERE. Some of it is common sense and some of it is good to know. Things like using a GPS could get you 10-20 years in prison and health and medical information among other concerns."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

Guess I'll be leaving my GSM cell phone and GPS at home. Anyways, thanks for the links, Scott. Lots of good info in there. ikenever 1 #88 December 24, 2005 Costyn, take your phone. The Russians are providing us documents for GPS units. Maybe it is best not to bring them in individually. The person that has sponsored units will receive the special travel documents. You must declare the units upon entry and exit. If you don't and you are stopped for an inspection, and you are not showing the unit on a declaration form, You are suspect. Use your head!

ikenever 1 #95 January 4, 2006 Today we received a corporate sponsorship. This funding will put some nice gps receivers in our hands. Garmin will release some new models January 16th. The model EDGE 305 is advertised to acquire sat signals in 1 second in hot mode. This model is under 4"long. The other is the Forerunner 305. It will be available in February. It too has the new "sensitive" signal sensor in it. It is a wrist watch style. Very, very tiny!

ikenever 1 #98 January 6, 2006 The competition event "descriptions and rules" have been completed. The registration form is also now available. For all of those who wish to receive these WORD documents may request them by emailing me at [email protected] This information will also be available soon at scaryperry.com If you wish to use Aeroprize as your travel service within Russia they now have a price list that offers a per day rate that can be easily calculated. The more people you stack into a room or airport pickup the cheaper it gets. They can provide services to independent travelers also. This price list can be sent to those who are interested. A very limited number of rooms are available at the drop zone for $10 US per person per night. Tent camping is $5 US per person per night (includes facilities).
