Well, apparently it can glide at 4:1 ?, which is awesome..but,
I dont suppose you'd be able to flock with Skyrays would ya?

Minds need to be opened there is titanium (fuck they even use that shit in golf balls and look how far they fly)

uranium is another good product - the suit that glows but really goes

And many others, every manufacture is just to caught up in the carbonfuckingfiber fad -- we need to find other precious materials to use.

Just in the last 4 weeks the price of Carbonfuckingfiber has doubled, soon we won't be able to afford these new suits

Edit to add: "the suit that glows but really glows" is a trademark of Handtocock Productions;) and not be used without written permission---oh and a hand shake:)

Skyray has been around for quite a few years now.

They can be flocked, yes. I watched two fly in formation with smoke at the 2000 Espace boogie.

Performance is exceptional but only good for large plane DZs.

3 of them in a Porter would definitely be a pain in the butt....

And fitting one of those babies in my gearbag for the motor-cycle-drive to the DZ would also suck..

I gues that's why we saw Felix driving around on top of a Porsche-roof
He just didnt fit inside :P

Just wear it on your back.

I'm afraid that driving the 150 km to my DZ with a wing on my back, constantly trying to lift me of my bike would not be real comfy:S
But probably great fun if you accidently let go of the handlebars...B|

Also, I've sadly not had any real luck finding cliffs in Holland :P

Just curious; what about stability? Do they go into flat spins easily? What would you do if you did get into a flat spin? :S

big problem is that they haven't updated their website in years...

I hear they are developing a model for the german military I believe... supposed to go 100k and carry extra gear inside...

I think I would rather have the military version that can go 100k in distance than the 10k that the sports model is said to travel...

Also haven't had much luck with emailing them... they have only replied to me back in 2002 and 2003, none since...

Hey skyray, we have been waiting... at least give up some news...

Is the stall speed of the rigid wing higher in this case? Would that make it bad for BASE jumping.

I imagine it's more a function of the wing shape than whether it's rigid or not.

The fact that you can't instantly collapse it to respond to and adjust for instability issues is going to make a blown exit a very, very interesting situation. The good news is that you ought to be able to get a feel for the exit mechanics jumping off a rooftop into mattresses, or using some kind of pendulator type system.

HUM... RIDE A MOTOR CYCLE STRAPPED IN LAUNCH AND RELEASE.....

AH... TO MANY WHAT IF'S..............

What about a ski jump ramp....?

I'd love to see someone try to reach 160 km/hr on a motorcycle with a Skyray strapped to their back. Well, on video, maybe. Not sure I'd want to be standing there.
